I just read what he said. Sounds like he’s not going to do much. He reiterated that Massachusetts has the second highest vax rate and second lowest lowest hospitalization rate. The first being VT, and we’re number one in those categories among high population states.
He has zero appetite to go back to statewide masking sounds like. Localities can do sone things, but I still think it’s limited based on no state of emergency. We have no county government so cities and towns will do what they want within limits I think. Middelsex county is still below the cdc threshold so maybe I’ve dodged the mask at work for another week or 2.
As far as schools go, I think baker punts and leaves it up to each school system. Clearly Janey ignored the DESE guidence and imposed masks at school this year.

Yep, for a State as populated as we are, we are knocking it out of the park.

Quite the case number if it pans out.  Seems high but this isn't some random guy on twitter suggesting it.

Cases mean shyte at this point. Deaths are  running about 250 a day. Thats about 90,000 per year. Yes, it’s somebodies family I get it. But from a pure numbers standpoint, that’s a touch worse than a bad flu season.

he might be now and is just trolling....

I have several vaxed friends who got it just to avoid hassles, not necessarily for the good of society.
One of them is a lawyer in NH and she is just licking her chops, getting ready for clients who are going to legally oppose any vax mandates.

I disagree a bit.  I think the case metric still has its place, but is not as important as it used to be and shouldn't be driving public policy.  It's useful for hospitals to get an indicator that hey, we could start seeing more patients down the line.  Also, it helps give some clue how much immunity we are gaining as a population.

For those who don't know Kev is trolling: Tomi Lahren can't read and probably paid off her principal to graduate high school, so I wouldn't trust her as a source.

I never know with him.  Sometimes its easy to spot his trolls... other times I really think he believes this stuff that she tweets out

So annoying.  One time me and another car got to the stop sign at the same time and we both started to go.  Go, stop, go, stop, go, stop... happened several times.  What I usually do now when it looks like I may get to the stop sign at the same time as someone else is slow down or speed up a touch so that it is clear who got there first.
Ha, I've slowed down too, but the the other driver waves me through

even if it's true if the 25% is mild/asymptomatic cases then it doesn't really matter....

It could be true.  May start seeing a growing percentage of cases in vaccinated people.  Cases in vaccinated people could even approach or exceed the percentages in unvaccinated people in areas with extremely high vaccination rates.  That's what happens when the vax doesn't stop transmission and the pool of unvaccinated people shrinks to very low levels.

5:05 pm: There are twelve total positive cases, manager Dave Martinez told reporters (including Jesse Dougherty of the Washington Post). Those are four players (including Turner) and eight staff members. Eleven of the twelve have been vaccinated, according to Martinez. Fortunately, no one involved feels seriously ill, which the skipper attributed to the high vaccination rate among those infected.

And flu cases are probably undercounted big time.

Unvaccinated people will only get tested if they land in the hospital, mostly. I assume many vaxxed people still get tested all the time like they always have.

LOL “doubly dangerous.”

Ridiculous nonsense.

I think a case can be made that Delta is more dangerous to unvaccinated people than previous versions of covid.  Is it a tad, 1.5 times, 2 times, I don't know.  But it is misleading to act like it's doubly dangerous to everybody.

But it is driving policy. That’s the problem.

The risk is no higher now than it was in July 2020 when we were all running around with no vaccines. I said this to a couple of militant COVID people recently and they had no comeback. I guess the media has this all twisted around for people.

There are a lot of stories out there from doctors and nurses about people in their 20s, 30s, 40s coming into the hospital sicker now than before.  It's hard to quantify it exactly but I am not going to dismiss that.

Maybe this new knowledge that the vaccinated can keep the casedemic going forever themselves will finally wake enough people up that calling the unvaccinated stupid rednecks and claiming we are single-handedly responsible for the pandemic is not the way out of this mess. We need to elect people who will take action based on metrics other than simply cases.

However...

I’ve did it until I’m blue in the face. STOP THE INSANE ROUTINE TESTING! Of course your going to find virus with PCR. There’s a lot of virus circulating. Doesnt mean they are infected or contagious. The CDC guidence says you don’t need routine testing of vaxed people. So folks pick and choose which CDC guidence they listen too depending on what they want to hear and do.

It's fear porn to drive vaccinations among the young. They did the same thing a year ago to try to get them off the beaches and out of the clubs. If it is on Twitter, it's likely totally bogus.

It's actual news articles that I have read from places like FL and MO.  When it comes down to who I am going to believe, I'd probably lean toward them over you.  No offense.

We have the data from the UK. Did 20 year olds die at a higher rate from Delta than the prior strains? Last I checked, deaths were down in all categories over there.
