Buckethead
I've been out several nights this week for the perseids. We had two good nights here last night and the night before. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

BooneWX
Over 3 inches of rain the last few days here in Burke. I’m afraid Fred rising from the dead is going to spell trouble for upslope and foothill areas.

Bad thing is many areas have over 3 inches the past 2 days already. We have about 1.5 here and still raining currently. Water levels are still pretty low though thankfully. We kayaked the upper French broad around rosman today and the water was fairly low.
Met1985
With the training effect overnight with moderate to heavy rainfall the river has rose several feet overnight and the streams and creeks have rose a lot. Hopefully the NWS only predicting 3 to 4 inches from fred will come to fruition.
Rainforrest
Man talk about some heavy rain last night. Totaled 4.89”from 6:00 yesterday evening to about 5:00 this morning. Nws is saying possibly 10” from Fred this week.

wncsnow
Most of the heavy rain was southwest of us. We are still at 1.9. Fred looks like hes getting his act together on satellite

Almost 2 inches since around 4 PM yesterday with a total of 4.3 the last 5 days. I see there was a slide into a house on Wolf Mountain in Jackson County. With Fred strengthening before landfall, a bit concerned we may get a bit more than previously expected the next 48 to 60 hours. Yeah the county in a whole has gotten a lot of rain this past week. I think with Fred strengthening that spells danger for WNC and the lee side of the mountains.
Met1985
Fred is definitely strengthening and may end up as a hurricane. If this continues I would say our rain totals go up. This is the best Fred has looked throughout his stages.
wncsnow
I can't believe there aren't any flood watches up. There should have been some up last night. It makes no sense with a life threatening situation like this but we get winter storm warnings for an inch of slop 1

wncsnow
I think antecedent conditions aren't wet enough to see historic river flooding in most areas but flash flooding could be really bad
