Mobility data has shown that people have been moving around at nearly pre-pandemic levels.  People being afraid to leave their house is so April 2020.  Get with the times.

Well, I didn't escape without the side effects. Slept fine and felt fine this morning, then randomly got the chills- about 18 hours after the shot. Felt very lethargic, mild muscle aches, and headache. Just laid around all day until about an hour ago. Lasted about 6 hours. Not sure how typical that is, but it kinda ruined my plans for the day doing outside stuff lol.

Sent you some resources for appts. 

Also @wxtrix is right about the Hagerstown site. They I believe have walk ins everyday 10-2. FCC now is a mass vax site will have to look into that one about walk ins though.

As of this morning, according to the WSJ:

25.4% of the US population is fully vaccinated with 40% given at least a dose

At least one dose - VA 42.1%, MD 42.7%, DC 40.9% 

Full dose - VA 26.6% (including 66% aged 65+), MD 27.8% (69% aged 65+), and DC 23.5% (56% 65+)

Just got a Public Safety Alert on my phone that Virginia is opening up vaccinations for everyone 16+. That was a little unexpected, if I'm honest.

And not only that, but it freaked me out a little when it came through!

I was talking on the phone with Vaccinate Virginia when the emergency alert came through!  Trying to find an appointment close by is hard.  I guess we will go through VAMS for my husband’s appointment.   Everything is booked at the big retailers.  I got my first last week st Dulles mall and was down for a day (as COVID+ to be expected). Some of the smaller pharmacies may have openings though.  I will have to call.

Shot #1 done.  Nice job by INOVA with their big site on Eisenhower Ave in Alexandria.  It is amazing how cheerful everyone was, and the ton of volunteers there that are there to guide people around.

How close do you think we are to getting everyone vaccinated that is willing?  Seeing these eligibility requirements open up tell me that the supply is greater than the demand.

I think the main problem is that people in some places either don't know where to get the vaccines or cant drive out of the city to spots where they have them.

Eventually we will get to a place where there are no longer willing participants.  I have a feeling we are a lot closer than people think.  I live with a nurse that won't take it.  And she knows the science.  I am gonna take it.. but there is a lot that wont.

I don't know about the supply, but I think at this point... all the high risk people have had ample time to get vaccinated.  Also, I think the Administration wants to look good for their promises about getting everyone vaccinated.  The J&J issue at the Baltimore plant is a big black eye though and I think that will slow things down.  I would not be surprised if CDC/FDA paused the J&J vaccine partly because of the issue at the Baltimore plant and not having the vaccines needed to meet their goals.

I’m def not anti-vaccine and really appreciate the science here, but for someone that doesn’t get the flu or shot, my only angst of getting vaccine is to not disrupt my body chemistry. 
 

I’m not ruling out getting it someday, but just wanted to share some perspective on what others may be thinking. We are all not inconsiderate assholes or anti vaccine people. I wear my mask but also try to live my life and do what I “think” is best for my health.
