Cell into n McHenry looks good

Had some 40-50 mph gusts with heavy rain and bolts for a brief 15min stretch while dropping my son off for soccer. Lightning detection system for fields worked.

With 0.71", it is the 6th driest April on record for Chicago.

Also, it is the 5th time that each of the first 4 months of the year had less than 2" of precip (Jan: 1.95", Feb:  1.25", Mar: 1.25", Apr: 0.71").  The other years when that happened are 1915, 1934, 1958 and 1989.

For the 2nd year in a row April saw more snow than March in Detroit. In fact going back to the Winter of 2014-15, mother nature has been confused at the beginning and end of the season.

2014: Nov- 4.0", Dec- 0.1"

2015: Nov- 6.2", Dec- 1.3"

2018: Nov- 6.7", Dec- 0.5"

2019: Nov- 9.5", Dec- 2.7"

2020: Mar- 1.7", Apr- 4.9"

2021: Mar- Tra, Apr- 3.6"
