Now wait. LAST YEAR. I follow the volcano thing and there are by far more volcanoes going currently - Sufrierre, Etna, Several in Central America and Africa. The ones near the equator are the ones that will effect climate/weather.

And you need the ash cloud to get up above 40,000 to really do anything as well so eruptions like that unpronounceable one in Iceland don't do anything, nor the new one in Africa that started today (I forget the name but the lave can flow as fast as 40 MPH).

Pinatubo was a VEI 6. It’s a logarithmic scale, so Pinatubo was much more intense.

I mean the one from last week - Synabong or something like that. I don't have the active volcano page open.

Saturday night into Sunday night...

A progressive upper level trough moves from the Ohio Valley
Saturday evening to off the Massachusetts coast Sunday evening.
It surface low pressure reflection is forecast to move from the
Mid- Atlantic coast northeastward to near or just south of
Nantucket. There still remains some model differences, but all
models spread rain from SW to NE across the region Saturday
night, mainly after midnight. Rain should continue much of the
day on Sunday, with the steadiest in the southeastern half of
southern New England. Looks like 0.25 to 0.75 inches of rain is
possible... with 1 inch not out of the question in southeast
areas, closer to the low track. Clouds, precipitation, and
onshore flow will keep high temperatures in the 50s.

Most stuff has .25 west up to 1.0” far SE Mass. so most get .25-.50. Certainly not the soaker we needed or advertised and could still slide even more east like they have all winter.

Enjoy the drenching. Webbed hands are trying to keep me dry.

This air mass is moderating already ...

It's still windy but the type and texture of the sky has really abruptly washed out and the temperature has bounced from 42 to 47 here in the late sloping sun. The virga white pall sky has cleared out leaving a dappling of fractal fair weather Cu - there there is some virga plumes still along the NE horizon.

So ...it was going to be short live anyway.  60 tomorrow if the NAM MET is right at FIT-BED-ASH... and 71 Saturday..  Pretty amazing to go that quickly around the corner. But with long days we can kind of see it happening - oh it'll probably get cold tonight when the wind abates .. 3 hours of decoupling.
