DanLarsen34
Debris ball has been evident on the reflectivity a LONG time now. Because of the geography of the region, Spann mentioned that it's why we're having trouble seeing a clear CC drop or velocity couplet.

Most of the reason the velocity sig was so relatively unimpressive was due to beam blockage by terrain -- I think.

Yeah this is definitely holding back the threat in MS so far. Sfc winds veered. I think a cap has built in to. Jet streak still seems to be hanging back west so curious in a few hours if that will deepen the low, improve sfc flow, and help to break the cap west. This has been a very sloppy evolution so far. CoastalWx
3 minutes ago, NaoPos said: Seems like positive trends to limit the ceiling on this event .... The directional shear didn't seem as impressive to me as some of the bigger outbreaks. But this one has some steep mid level lapse rates and strong wind velocities to maybe offset the lack of directional shear. Outbreaks are very difficult to predict in terms of how many SUP cells or intense tors. One or two ingredients can be altered slightly which is the difference between St Patty's Day 2021 and April 2011.
