Those cells in Southern mississippi look like they have lots of potential

Maybe it's too soon to say they dodged another one despite the trimming of the HIGH. That one north of Tylertown looks like trouble down the road.

Of course, I said the same thing about the discrete cells popping in south-central MS last Wednesday and they just kind of died out.

Couplet SW of Cave Spring, GA is becoming quite intense. The supercell structure looks like slop but it's probably being scanned from pretty high

Almost in the same spot as where the next EF4 produced by the same supercell that spawned Tuscaloosa/Birmingham crossed into GA on 4/27/11, although it took a little different trajectory to get there. It also crossed AL-9 north of Piedmont very near Goshen UMC of Palm Sunday 1994 infamy.

Ya agreed, looks like junk on normal reflectivities but velocity scans are still damn impressive. That’s a rough spot for a radar hole. Wouldn’t be surprised at all if that’s still producing a significant TOR considering its history....back to mostly lurking for me. Stay safe down there today and keep the great posts and info coming.

New discussion.

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 50 continues.

SUMMARY...Conditions remain favorable for tornadic supercells
   through this afternoon.

DISCUSSION...The air mass remains unstable ahead of a broken line of
cells from east-central MS into north-central AL, with southerly
surface winds and warmer temperatures over southern AL aiding
destabilization. Although these storms are aligned roughly parallel
to the strong southwesterlies aloft, low-level winds remain
sufficiently backed to maintain favorable low-level SRH for
supercells and tornadoes. Effective SRH from objective analysis and
from area VWPs exceeds 300 m2/s2, with values over 400 m2/s2 for a
   right-moving cell.

Additional cells have recently intensified over southern MS, and
these may become better organized as they proceed east into the
   stronger low-level shear environment.

 A COUPLE INTENSE TORNADOES LIKELY

That is extremely strong wording.  Wow.
