...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 315 PM EDT FOR
SOUTHEASTERN BANKS...NORTHEASTERN JACKSON AND NORTHWESTERN MADISON
COUNTIES...

At 252 PM EDT, a confirmed tornado was located near Pocataligo, or 7
miles east of Commerce, moving east at 50 mph.

HAZARD...Damaging tornado.

SOURCE...Law enforcement confirmed tornado.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is
         likely.

Locations impacted include...
Commerce, Maysville, Nicholson, Ila, Pocataligo, Apple Valley and
Banks Crossing.

...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 245 PM CDT FOR NORTH
CENTRAL TALLADEGA...NORTHEASTERN SHELBY AND ST. CLAIR COUNTIES...

At 157 PM CDT, a confirmed large and extremely dangerous tornado was
located over Vandiver, or near Leeds, moving northeast at 40 mph.

This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. TAKE COVER NOW!

HAZARD...Damaging tornado.

SOURCE...Radar confirmed tornado.

IMPACT...You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris may
         be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes
         will be destroyed. Considerable damage to homes,
         businesses, and vehicles is likely and complete destruction
         is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Pell City, Leeds, Moody, Rainbow City, Springville, Odenville,
Lincoln, Margaret, Argo, Ashville, Riverside, Ragland, Steele, Bald

Yeah this is definitely holding back the threat in MS so far. Sfc winds veered. I think a cap has built in to. Jet streak still seems to be hanging back west so curious in a few hours if that will deepen the low, improve sfc flow, and help to break the cap west. This has been a very sloppy evolution so far.

The directional shear didn't seem as impressive to me as some of the bigger outbreaks. But this one has some steep mid level lapse rates and strong wind velocities to maybe offset the lack of directional shear.

Outbreaks are very difficult to predict in terms of how many SUP cells or intense tors. One or two ingredients can be altered slightly which is the difference between St Patty's Day 2021 and April 2011.
