Kristospherein
Dodged a bullet, that Pineville cell went a couple miles to the south of me. Had a tornado hit my neighborhood a year ago. No thanks again.

mob1
There may have been a small CC drop east of Charlotte but it's in a horrible radar spot. Either way, rotation still looks fairly tight.

Storm definitely has strong mid level rotation Blame that on Congress... Charlotte has been lobbying for a closer NWS radar station for nearly 2 decades now... It's the largest urbanized region (3M+ residents) in the nation without a NWS radar site within 70 miles of its location.

jburns
Rotation passed just north of me. I never really experienced any wind. A half inch of rain in less than 10 minutes was pretty much it. EDIT: This should not be viewed as a complaint.

Of course, hindsight is 20/20. Let's see how the post-analyzed probability maps look after the storm surveys are done and the maps are updated. A good 'moderate risk' event for sure IMO. Just like 4/15/11 could have gone with a high, yesterday probably should have stayed moderate. Perhaps I'm used to the 'high risks' of the 2000s and early 2010s. All of that being said - I do hope yesterday doesn't become a prelude to a far more impactful event in a few weeks (2011 feels?).
