I’m sticking with my call. Still no TOG reports and I do not think this makes it east of the triangle where they started the day with a level 4 threat

I like how a severe event is considered a bust if we don’t get a TOG that destroys stuff.  Talk about rubbernecking.

Why is there not a NWS radar station closer to Charlotte... Storm definitely has strong mid level rotation

Blame that on Congress...  Charlotte has been lobbying for a closer NWS radar station for nearly 2 decades now...  It's the largest urbanized region (3M+ residents) in the nation without a NWS radar site within 70 miles of its location.

WGHP reporting roofs off buildings in south High Point.

That cell had a tight couple over High Point before it broadened as it approached areas east of Greensboro.

Edit; looks pretty good again now.

Yesterday was certainly a significant event, but I personally don't believe it warranted a high risk in hindsight. Of course, hindsight is 20/20. Let's see how the post-analyzed probability maps look after the storm surveys are done and the maps are updated. A good 'moderate risk' event for sure IMO. Just like 4/15/11 could have gone with a high, yesterday probably should have stayed moderate. Perhaps I'm used to the 'high risks' of the 2000s and early 2010s.

All of that being said - I do hope yesterday doesn't become a prelude to a far more impactful event in a few weeks (2011 feels?).
