Its going to be a bad year for ticks.

In addition to the non native Asian long horn tick and the lone star tick CT now has an established population of Gulf Coast Ticks. Their Northern range was Maryland/Delaware.

Also, the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station is reporting massive numbers of ticks this spring. 46% of dog and deer ticks recently tested were positive for Lyme disease.

NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) – The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station reported populations of the Gulf Coast tick in Fairfield County, and noted its potential to further spread in Connecticut and transmit diseases to both people and pets.

According to Dr. Goudarz Molaei, a research scientist who also directs the CAES Tick Surveillance and Testing Program, its is the first report of populations of the Gulf Coast tick, Amblyomma maculatum, in the northeastern United States.

Mac jones

Mixed feelings

Played with best College o line , best college Wr’s and best RB . How many other college QB’s would have excelled in ther situation . A ton .

Doesn’t mean he won’t be good but all the things that made him stand out are gone when he steps on field for pats. Odds say I’ve seen this movie before w first round QB’s. Wanted Fields. But if Jones has great decision making , quick release and excellent accuracy he could be solid.

Will he pass the conditioning test?

Looks like TB athleticism when he was dafted lol and he plays like him too. His tape is pro ready imo. He doesn’t wow you at all but he’s a high IQ surgical signal caller. Me as a Jets fan, we will have to draft another QB in a 3yrs...hate the Wilson pick.

I think he has that with this years Pats, good O-line, better receivers and tight ends, good running backs that can catch, I think he's a perfect fit for this team. I didn't want him but the more I listen to guys talking about him the more I'm on board.

morning story #4343543 that small businesses are in trouble now that we've put everyone on universal basic income. I'm looking for someplace to rant but I got rid of Facebook.

This morning

My favorite bakery can't open early because they have no staff to come in and make croissants at odd hours. There's not enough money you can pay people to be a baker anymore.  The owners are in their 60s and I'm sure they are going to close the place down sooner rather than later.  The other option is Dunkin Donuts .

Yesterday

My friend told me his small business put an add in the paper two weeks ago for entry level work at $15/hr. No applicants. They upped it to $20/hr last week and got 4 bad applicants. Parole people required to apply for jobs etc.

My business

Restaurants on Cape Cod  that want to open can't staff their establishments .  Restaurants opening now at limited capacity not because of the state but because of staff.

The downstream effects of UBI and stimuluses are having a devastating effect on small businesses.  There is a huge undocumented population on Cape Cod (brazil) with their own shadow economy.  We legally need to be able to tap into that labor pool.

sad, for small businesses, I am seeing more and  more small bakeries disappear, we used to have at least 2 or 3 in Burlington/Woburn, I think we only have 1 now.

Better receivers ? ..pats don’t have best receivers in league like he worked with last year ?not in comparison to the competition that is covering them and not a better offensive line compared to the completion rushing him (compared to college ) . So that’s a double no and sounds like is it fantasy  fanboy Comparison talk from talk Radio. That said ...we will see . I don’t know that much about his drive or accuracy  Or his ability to excel  against excellent competition. Brady had excellent intangibles there

its just so hard to make it as a first round QB into a good starter and he is no athlete . More and more of today’s QB’s can throw and run .Maybe we stuck gold , I mean cam isn’t taking us there unless his shoulder got magically fixed

That stuff will end though. It just comes down to people being dumb and not thinking ahead.

There should be a govt campaign to have a Lyme vaccine out by 2022

so what cryptos folks own? trying to expand my horizons beyond biotech.. :)

I'm starting to dabble.

Bought some LiteCoin yesterday, but very small amount.

Ethereum and Bitcoin are obviously the top 2, but LiteCoin is probably in the top 3 - and I may just stick with that going forward.

XLM is another alt-coin crypto play that might be interesting..or it could also disappear completely. lol

This is a multiple decades long problem coming to a head.

Minimum wage has not followed the cost of living for like 40 years now. It should be probably double what it is now.

The pandemic assistance has given folks a security blanket to balk at working for minimum wage.

It’s unfortunate for small businesses, but at the same time, minimum wage should have increased a lot more in the last 30-40 years.

Yea I believe its 24 hours - but not 100% sure. I just opened up a coinbase account the other day.  Just be careful with the fees on each transaction if you start doing recurring buys.
