Pretty cool picture on Facebook Marketplace. The Spectrum, Citizens Bank Park, Lincoln Financial Field, the Vet, and Wachovia Center (Wells Fargo). I thought the Vet or Spectrum was smashed before all 5 were still standing...

Looks like winter 2003. The seats are missing at the Vet.

Funny you mentioned that. The bar I used to stop by occasionally after work had 2 vet seats sitting there in the corner by the dartboard. I guess they sold them or auctioned them off?

Correct. Sold them off in sets of 2.  Did the same with the Spectrum in 2009.

I have a seat number from a chair at the Vet. No, not a piece of memorabilia from when they demolished it. It’s from a Phillies game I went to as a kid in the 70’s. The number was sorta already coming off, I just “helped” it the rest of the way. Still have it somewhere.

So, I guess we don't need this winter to be saved, or do we?  No one at all talking about every winter's savior over the past 5 years: Stratospheric Warming???  Not seeing any talk about this guess, it only happens in years where we are overly patient and need winter to be saved?

With the cold on our side of the globe for a change, a strat warming event would probably end our winter. :sun:

First game at the Vet 1976, I think Bowa went five for five. It was a dump towards the end but it was our dump. Courtroom/Judge and all, could have made a TV show out of it....

I was at the last game at the Vet. Phils vs. Braves.  Sat in the 600 level under the Phanovision.  I'll admit I tried to rip off one of the section markers on the rails on my way out.

My first game was 1971, I was 5. Can’t believe I remember it, but it was Phil’s vs Pirates. Barely knew a thing about baseball or the Phils. Think I rooted for the Pirates because they had the cooler name

Mine was 1982. They were playing the Astros. We sat in the lower 300 level along third base.  Schmidt went for a foul ball and it landed in front of us and bounced on the concrete over our heads.  I was with my Dad, and a friend of mine. Never forget it. I learned so many new curse words too.

The 700 level and riding the bus to Catholic grade school is where I learned how to curse.

I was probably 5 or 6 my first game and got sick right as we walked up to the stadium from car sickness. Saw the dodgers with my mom and a friend who explained to me that we were booing eddie murray “because he’s doing good”. (Looked it up and he hit 2 hr that day)

went to the implosion with some friends after staying up all night, as kids in college will do. Went to philly around 230 for some cheesesteaks and then watched from packer ave off 76.

and lots of good times there inbetween. :drunk:to the Vet! Go birds!

If you would have told me 10 years ago the Eagles were going to the Super Bowl three times and winning at least one of them I would bet a million dollars not.

I tried to explain to my son what this meant. So many years of being in the middle or bowing out in the second round. All those years with Buddy Ryan, the Reid/McNabb years being so close, and now here we are.  Eagles go 52 years and get one, and now they have another chance to do it again! Unbelievable!

Three SB appearances in the last 7 years, two of the last three Super bowls

Marcus Hayes reporting Brandon Graham will be coming off the injured reserve list tomorrow....

Thats interesting. They interviewed Graham in the locker room, and he didn't seem very upbeat about playing, but you never know.

Grab your dress, we’re going to the dance!

Good thing it snows a lot in Buffalo cause it’s gotta suck being a Bills fan.

My mom is a Bills fan since the Jim Kelly era, when they lost the 4 straight Super Bowls. I'm convinced they are cursed, and they won't actually win a Super Bowl until after my mom passes.

Let's hope not!! If the Eagles weren't in this thing, I'd have been rooting for a Lions/Bills Super Bowl.

The thing about the Bills is, they don't just lose, they find heartbreaking ways to lose. That 4th down spot?? And Kincaid...no, it wasn't an easy catch, but there was a play to be made there.

My mom is 65 in May, so if the Bills were to win a Super Bowl in her lifetime, it almost has to be during the Josh Allen era.

Yeah, I couldn't handle being a Bills fan. I don't think I could be able to handle losing 4 Super Bowls in a row. Heck, the Eagles losing the Super Bowl the way they did 2 years ago was crushing to me. I don't know if I could take another loss to the Chiefs.

The Bills right now reminds me of the 2000-03 Eagles, before we got over the hump and made it to the Super Bowl in 2004.

Of course.

I was just saying eagles got their invite to the Super bowl on the fifth anniversary of his death this past Sunday. He was an eagles fan...more so than a sixers fan.

......

Ah, gotcha. I had to look up who played in the Super Bowl way back in 2020. It was so long ago and my memory ain’t what it was :oldman:
