BUF- 1041 AM EST SAT FEB 20 2021

LAKE EFFECT OFF LAKE ERIE OVERACHIEVED OVERNIGHT THROUGH DAYBREAK   THIS MORNING AS SHORTWAVE TROUGH AND DEEPER MOISTURE CROSSED THE   REGION WITH H85 TEMPS OF -14C. MANY REPORTS OVER 20 INCHES IN NARROW   AREA OF SOUTHERN ERIE COUNTY WITH A COUPLE REPORTS AROUND 30 INCHES.

HIGH SLRS AND FOCUS OFF THE THE LIMITED BUT STILL VERY EFFECTIVE   OPEN WATERS OF EASTERN LAKE ERIE HELPED TREMENDOUSLY. LAKE EFFECT   OVER WAYNE INTO N. CAYUGA WAS STEADY BUT NOT NEAR AS STRONG AS THE   BAND OFF LAKE ERIE. AS THE FAVORABLE BACKGROUND FORCING AND MOISTURE   IS JUST APPROACHING NOW, SEEING THIS LAKE EFFECT INCREASE AND THAT   SHOULD STAY THE CASE WITH 1-2 INCH PER HOUR RATES INTO THIS EVENING.

EXTENDED THE GOING WARNING THERE UNTIL MIDNIGHT TONIGHT AS THE LAKE   EFFECT WILL CONTINUE HEAVY AT TIMES INTO THE EVENING THOUGH WILL   BECOME MORE FOCUSED LIMITED IN COVERAGE BY THIS EVENING.

Are you guys sure this area gets 100+ winters???

My, what a boring pair of winters. I think almost every day this month it's been sunny while Buffalowx and Dave post snowy pics of their cities...and this WITH NW winds...

Chase off to a great start...Maple Rd, East Aurora, 2”/. Nice white plastering here.

Head to Evans, let me know how much by my new house haha. Buddy in Boston is up to 38” since last night and snowing at 2-3”/hr

BuffaloWeather is right. Head to Boston/Eden for some insane sights. Go up in elevation too and you’ll see a huge difference from the valleys.

It was absolutely nuts. We had it before the warning. Interestingly enough it caused subsidence behind it and the sun is coming out. Hope we back build as the rgem shows.

Deep moisture and convective snow bands developing over western lake ontario. Rates probally 3 inches a hour one it fully develops into Orleans monroe county. I am surprised no headlines up for Orleans County.

Ehhh. I wouldn’t get too carried away. 3”/hr is nearly unheard of here. Those feeders look stringy.  I see what you mean but you’re in peak diurnal hours. It’ll be cellular and possibly fleeting. It’s crazy how the roads are just wet even in the heaviest bands. This evening might be our best opportunity.
Just unbelievable what’s going on in the Boston hills. Awesome stuff!
