Don't know what happened.  Just when the heaviest bands were approaching, someone pulled the plug...

In this obvious stage of climate change, they need to up the criteria for a lot of us. No way should anything less than 8" total ever warrant a Winter Storm Watch or Warning anymore. 3-6" is clearly just a Winter Weather Advisory and anything less just needs an HWO or SWS. Like *everyone* up here and beyond in NYS has SUV's for this. If you can't drive through a 3-6" event with a 4WD SUV, you shouldn't be on the roads, period.

And it's flat out ceased here for now. If not for good.

3-6" in 12 hours is advisory criteria for OKX.  If its going to be 6" they have a little wiggle room, but basically 3-6 already is considered advisory snowfall.  For straight snowfall, need a minimum of 3" for advisory.

This is currently my heaviest snow rate of the whole season right now in SW Suffolk. Started with giant 1.5 “ diameter snowflakes. Now I have visibility under .2 mile in very heavy snow.
