Jonah
Mostly ZR with some sleet mixed in. 30.1 currently
NCBlizzard
I’m at 31.3 with a wet bulb of 30.2 in South Durham, right at I-40. A solid glaze on elevated surfaces/trees (maybe 0.05”), but sidewalks and roads are just wet. I’m surprised we got this cold here based on trends late last night. At 9 AM, my station was 2.2°F colder than the NAM and 1.4°F colder than the HRRR projected. Some more light precip moving in now so we’ll see if those trends mean anything at this point. Oddly enough, GFS/RDPS have been the most accurate on temps so far.
CentralNC
32 still with ZR/IP mix. Definitely more than last weekend thus far. Trees droopy but not too bad
BG_Slick
Icing on trees and elevated surfaces...some on grass. Temps rising above freezing in last 30 minutes (32.3 now). Lowest temp was 30.6. Heavier precip rates moving in with increased sleet mixing in. Lights just flickered unfortunately.

PackGrad05
I can confirm that was a large outage near WTCC on 401 north of Fuquay. I have friends who live over there.
Tullioz
I'm back to freezing rain with lighter radar returns overhead. Had enough sleet to make the roads slushy. I measured right around .20" ice accrual on elevated surfaces, so we're not too far away from meeting Winter storm criteria here.

TriadDeac
NW High Point Light freezing rain, 32 degrees Trees are starting to sag a bit and hearing that cracking with the breeze, "icicles" on deck and fence are about 2" to 3". Power has flickered off and back on once. Crossing my fingers we are dodging the worst of it.

BornAgain13
Can anyone elaborate on the precip this evening/tonight? Do we get more this evening and tonight after this main batch
NorthHillsWx
Still some icing in trees but looks like it’s above the ground. Temp up to 32.2 from a low of 31.
BornAgain13
By the way , another bad showing for the Weather Channel. They have a reporter in DC expecting 5-8" of snow , I watched earlier and they were getting sleet. 2 1
Dunkman
Unfortunately this heavier band is all ZR so far in N High Point. I was really hoping for some sleet.
BG_Slick
main batch of precipitation has moved through. Only light rain now. Looks like maybe .10 to .15 accrual on trees. Sleet seemed to help and temps went above freezing during heavier rain (latent heat release?) Hopefully we can melt these trees off before temps drop again. (32.5 / 31)

David6310
I saw a Weathernation crew in a parking lot on New Garden Rd in Greensboro around 7:30 this morning. They were not broadcasting, just sitting in their truck. I'm guessing 1/8" of ice on branches and outside furniture. Steady rain coming through now. davenc
For all the SUPER weenies, check out CAMS , turn on the ncdot traffic cams, and see what has unfolded(or not unfolded) across the entire state!! Enjoy!!
kgar2121
Count me as happy that we have seemingly dodged this bullet in Statesville. Frozen precip is bad enough for business, but the amount of ice predicted would have killed it through the weekend, and that would have been the least of my concerns. I've been all over the northern end of the county already this morning, and all roads have been very clear. Even saw the sun trying to peek through very quickly a few min ago. Certainly seemed to be clearing. Hoping those who get more ice fare well, and the power stays on for them!

Right. 52 at University in far NW forsyth looks icy, and some bridges here and there, but yes, overall the majors look to be in good shape statewide! Jonathan
At least for southern VA, the precip is beginning to fill back in to the south and west. Several more hours of freezing drizzle look possible, which would accrue much faster than the heavy batch that came through this morning. The upper energy is still way out west. Plus we still have the evening batch of freezing rain. Don't think we're out of the woods at all yet.
AirNelson39
Finished with .86” of 32.5 degree rain. There were models showing a lee side min right before the start of the event. Unreal.
