Kinda surprised, checked temp history and been at 35 past 3 hrs. Figured everything was gone, but went to get in the car and everything is still coated in a ice crusted slop of sleet.

There was a good amount of sleet on the ground down here, and then the rain showed up.

This has been a Middle and West TN year.   They sure were in line for it because of all the bad winters of late.   The Eastern Valley has had a lot of close calls and a very fun White Christmas so I count this year as a win.   I am ready for spring and warm weather.  Just bought a new bass boat and ready to get out on the water.

I think I changed to rain around 1:45 AM. Got up, looked out, nary a snow flake. We probably got 2.5" before the changeover, enough so that everything is still covered in snow right now.

same, was mostly rain here at 26. was still among the biggest snows of the season here

I wouldn't say that, this was our only storm of the season other than just a coating a couple times,i doubt we got 1" before this

Yeah I was gonna say it seemed like a complete junk winter for middle and west TN till this week. And it seemed like most of East TN had a good one (except Chattanooga and a few other areas)

The storm yesterday was the big winner for us in west Tn, Monday’s system dropped mainly sleet on us, 1.5-2” of sleet with maybe a 1/2-1” of actual snow.  We were able to pick up 4-5’ all snow from last nights event.  So that was a blessing for us snow lovers.  I’ll post some pics in a little while

Overall, above average winter here in Laurel County/London.  We had the Christmas storm, last night's event (3-4" area wide), the ice storm and numerous ankle biter snows, including one about a week after Thanksgiving.

We need the thaw so work crews can get out and repair downed lines in the region, still lots without power as I write this.  Would not mind another snow to track in March, but by late March I'm well into spring mode.

insane what a difference 10 miles makes in the weather here, alot of backup has arrived to help restore power.

Good morning! Well, we got 4" of wet snow, our seventh visible accumulation snow event of the winter in southern Lincoln County 7 miles above Alabama, and our eighth winter weather event counting the ice storm, all in a "la Nina" year when it was forecast to be warm and dry. I also follow the signs of nature as well as the meteorology, and they pointed all autumn to this kind of active winter in direct contrast to seasonal forecasting. Annual snowfall averages for this place are < 1" normally.

But tomorrow pivot day finally arrives. By Tuesday, we will be enjoying the low 60s for several days.

Currently ground fog, 32, winds calm and barometer at 29.93 inHg. They say we may get some flurries but I'll bet if we get anything it will be rain.

I’ve learned over the years since living here not to get to excited or down based on what winter is being forecast to do each season. I also use the law of averages and I am far enough north that if 2 winters are bad the 3rd usually won’t be. This one has not disappointed for my area.

Yep, I drove up from TN yesterday afternoon. From Knoxville to LaFollette,  mostly bare ground. Jellico Mountain was covered with snow and ice. From Jellico to about a couple  miles south of Corbin it was mostly bare it looked. Snow and ice zone grew thicker between London and Corbin.
