btcs31
This little LE band is efficient. Whoever gets stuck under it is going to be buried (as advertised). Can see it’s progress well on the traffic maps.

ILSNOW
plumes at ORD up to 13 edit includes snow from later in the week as purduewx80 was kind enough to point out ORD is at 9 for this storm.
WeatherMonger
No clue how much snow has fallen here, wind is blowing it pretty good.If I had to guesstimate would say 2 - 2 1/2" been coming down at a decent rate for a bit now. Sitting at 0 degrees to boot
TheRegionRat
Snowing at a good clip right now. Radar returns show a veritable firehose effect over the area at the moment. Shoveled a couple of inches of pixie dust this morning.

RCNYILWX
1.1” at ORD as of 6AM..A record that will be tied tomorrow at ORD is consecutive days with measurable snow, set in Feb 2018. Today makes the 8th consecutive day and tomorrow will make 9. If Wednesday can manage to get measurable snow, a new record will be set. It's too bad there was no measurable snow on Feb 7th, because otherwise would've blown by the 2018 record. The record for days with measurable snow in February is 15, set in 1962. So far this month there's been 11 days with measurable snow at ORD, so there's a good chance to at least tie that record. Powerball
Looks like the total at DFW was 4", which ends its 6-year 4"+ snowstorm drought. This is also the largest "cold" snowstorm DFW has ever seen, with temps in the teens the entire time. The most impressive part is most of that fell in a 2 hour window. And then there's Wednesday, lol. 06z is very close to worthy with over 1" of QPF.

Powerball
And lol at DTW forecasting 8" of snow for Detroit in 24 hours with a Winter Weather Advisory and winds of 15-25 MPH. I'm convinced they're trolling. EDIT: Never mind. Their AFD says a WSW is forthcoming.
purduewx80
Radar estimating some tops over the lake as high as 10,000’ or 3km. Gives increased confidence in some 2-4”/hr rates today.
WeatherMonger
Curious as to what the ratios have been here. Going by the airport tally of .06" liquid we'd have 1.2" at 20:1. Definitely have more than that.
