SomeguyfromTakomaPark
Wow my road is a sheet of ice, I went to the top of our little hill and took a running start and I slid like a solid 10 feet or more on my boots lol. Driving has gotta be super treacherous right now.

BristowWx
Steady drizzle. 27. Better enjoy this one. Things look a little dicey in the long range. This was a nice event. Enjoyed the temp staying below freezing. We’ll get em next winter. I just know it!
WEATHER53
I just did not get as much freezing rain as 3miles to my south. Dogwood tree is steady for measuring and it’s got 0.1 but not .2 on it. I think 1999 was .5. 1999 was eerie All that ice made it “white “ at night as it was pitch black all lights and power out. vey very quiet except for the awful splintering sound of huge tree limbs. Never heard such a painful to hear shredding and cracking sound. Like something living was being torn apart....because....it was.

WEATHER53
I think this IS as good an outcome as possible for freezing rain. It’s 27 and dark and that’s a big difference between 29/30 this afternoon mid Feb. Could mid Jan have squeaked out another 1-1.5F colder? Sure not the wholesale outages pre Pepco trimming days. It’s still a dangerous event though.

That was the sound heard here in Oct 9/10 1979 when 4-10 inches of heavy wet snow fell on still leafed out (but turning) trees. Just the continuous pop, pow, snap, bam from trees breaking.

Went for a Jebslide (@Jebman, I think that's an appropriate term for a Jebwalk in ice??), kinda dangerous out on areas that weren't salted. Stayed mostly on the crunchy grass. Just eyeing it, looks like we're pushing maybe close to 0.2" accumulated on some branches I would guess. Hope to post photos when I have a chance later on at some point. That's it! That's a jebslide! That's a very good term for an Ice jebwalk lol! I did a LOT of jebsliding in 1994! It wasnt just ice walking, I did a lot of literal sliding, too! Many times, that was the only way to get downhill! 1
