There is also no glaze of ice except on the deck but the roads are sleet covered and so is the yard. Seems at least for me to be more of a sleet storm. I am in Herndon and My bushes and pine trees have lot of ice accretion. Really starting to build up. Beautiful to see but worried there could be some damage later

I'm looking at my trees all becoming encased in ice and hearing that just up the road in silver spring there is no accretion on trees. Pretty interesting stuff. Looked like a clear high impact event in dc to me at least. My apologies as I questioned the event. Huge over performer in my book. Bob Chill
Sleet and grains have done some work in the hood. Road is now covered. Looking more wintry every hour out there. No complaints

Are you near downtown silver spring? Yeah, sort of between DTSS and Four Corners. Roads are as driveable as a summertime drizzle. Back deck is an ice rink. Shrug! EHoffman
Trees starting to sag a bit here. Things definitely starting to ice up and rain still fallng steady.
Demeter
Down in Spotsy, there is so much snow still on all the trees, the added sleet freezing rain we are getting is adding to the tree stress. Luckily we have no wind.

Scarlet Pimpernel
Looks like mostly sleet now, but has gone back and forth between freezing rain and sleet most of the day so far. Went for a Jebslide (@Jebman, I think that's an appropriate term for a Jebwalk in ice??), kinda dangerous out on areas that weren't salted. Stayed mostly on the crunchy grass. Just eyeing it, looks like we're pushing maybe close to 0.2" accumulated on some branches I would guess. Hope to post photos when I have a chance later on at some point. weatherbook
Between Oakton and Chantilly, the sleet has mixed with small, needle-shaped snow crystals. My driveway is encrusted with a thick layer of sleet.
dailylurker
Sleety here now too. Unless it's going over to snow give me the freezing rain back. I was enjoying watching the trees get icy.
WxUSAF
Definitely can tack on a few tenths of sleet/snow. Have to see how long this goes. Driveway getting white.
