Warm Nose
Transitioned to IP for a few minutes but back to very light ZR. Back edge of shield almost through here. Otherwise a big nothing-burger which is fine. 27.0/15.
GATECH
Discovered a flaw with my tempest weather flow weather station, it’s frozen over, making the haptic rain sensor inoperable. I guess a bucket dumper would have the same problem. Hmmm
George BM
Sleet here. Hopefully it will change back to ZR in due time. 28/23 at IAD.

Some light slushy ice coating deck railings etc, but most surfaces just wet. Might be more interesting if it is still precipitating later. Yeah, down to 29.7 here, only surfaces that are shaded or very light color have decent accretion. If this were at night or mid 20s might be more interesting. Looks like precip will pull out before 5 pm.

Wow Precip looks to be redeveloping on nexrad. Looks like a couple more hours of precip prob. Unless temps rise, conditions will continue to deteriorate as the sun begins to fall. SomeguyfromTakomaPark
Had to drive into DC. Roads are totally fine everywhere in Takoma Park and DC. Some untreated areas of sidewalks are becoming sheets of ice though. I saw one lady sliding down the parking lot ramp to target (not sure why she was walking on it in the first place) and I saw another guy glide a solid 6 feet across one of the grates above the metro. North Balti Zen
Rain and 29. Massive backup 83 northbound by Pepsi sign. Most predictable road issue ever up this way.
snowfan
HRRR would result in ISW criteria for many.
PrinceFrederickWx
This has been all rain here except on a few metal surfaces like railings there's some light ice accumulation. We can't even do an ice storm properly here now (which I'm thankful for, at least).
ThePhotoGuy
Surprised at the lack of accumulation on the trees so far in Annapolis. Sleety/freeze rain accumulation on cars and wood surfaces but everything else just wet.
dailylurker
Looks like PG, AA county down towards southern MD icy jack pot. Branches starting to sag with steady freezing rain. Temp 26

87storms
roads seemed fine where i'm at around cabin john. took some time to de-ice my jeep, though. railing/trees have accretion. a little bit on the sidewalks, but nothing on parking lots. slicker conditions will likely arrive tonight especially with less cars on the road. We have so many events, including the 3/16" of ice here with the last event after 2.5" of snow, where we get a glaze that sneaks up on us. There were far more glaring model signals going into this event however, including a steadfast ECMWF, that were screaming ISW.

I mean it's 28 degrees, it should accrete, but the sun angle/UHI this late in February is very real. Starting to hear some pingers here too, but no real accretion going on. Near Downtown DC, it seems to be accretion on some trees, but not on other trees, even in some cases right next to each other. I find this to be unusual.

gymengineer
Solid ice, not sleet, covering the sides of the paved alley here in N. Bethesda beside my building. Untreated sidewalks are glazed over as well. More ice on an actual street surface than on the trees is a new experience for me.
