Wintersnow888
Interesting it suddenly got darker almost like a thunderstorm just now when the heavy sleet began
Holston_River_Rambler
Yeah getting darker here too now. Almost thought I heard a rumble of thunder.
monoptn
The ineptitude of the forecasters was on full display. We went from smack dab in the middle of the 8-12" range to getting an inch of sleet. 1
Sweetpea Farms
Not a lot of impacts here in southern Lincoln County 7 miles above Bama, but here are 3 pix. Let's see if they work. I chopped them down in size. Been a long time since I was on a site that limited total size of all files. Fingers crossed. We are almost out of this mess, the map says. Hope so. (UNDER EDIT: Ooo, I can make them a bit bigger next time. Good to know.) 3

How are you faring? Good here. Trees still look the same as last night but we are now hovering between 32-33 with heavy rain. All the roads were icy this morning but we got the day off work so I havent went anywhere.

Sweetpea Farms
Hahaha, don't see this often, either! Look at this heat island right over my farm that extends up to Fayetteville. In the MIDDLE of ice. This storm has been amazing on so many levels. Texas friend says they got tornados, too.
Holston_River_Rambler
Heavy rain and gusty winds swinging through here right now. Almost like a tstorm line but no thunder

bamabonners
Still just rain here south of Huntsville. It's really tapered off... Just a drizzle now. To my west, monte sano and green mountain are holding the ice from coming over into Owens Cross Roads. That little ridge usually servers to protect this valley... Here's hoping that it continues to protect us from the ice. Temp has gone up slightly from where it was around 1pm.
TellicoWx
Well that was interesting, temps went from 42 to 59 back to 39...in a span of 15-20 mins. Had wind gust close to 60mph, at the time..almost 1000 residences without power now.

Sweetpea Farms
Well, it might be nasty outside but the UPS man made it here to do his route from Tullahoma today. TV weather now down from "Armageddon" to holding up a green leaf with a bit of an icicle on it and talking about that. FOR REAL!
Sweetpea Farms
I dunno, we're supposed to be under this but I'm at 32 and still moderately icing here in southern Lincoln County 7 miles above Alabama. Light rain, 32, winds ENE at 4, barometer at 29.53

BNAwx
Yeah, finally getting some moderate snow here. Hopefully I'll get enough to insulate the sleet pack....
Jed33
Looks like Memphis official total was 5.3in today! I lived there from 1995-2006 and we never had more than 4in out of any one snow storm. Also, I don’t think they’ve had anything like that in Memphis proper since I moved, so that would have to mean that you have to go back at least 26 years to find a snowfall of that magnitude in Memphis!
Shocker0
Temperature in Crossville randomly shot up from 34 to 41 in an hour, and in the last 15 minutes it's gone from 41 back down to 34 lol. 2
Olhausen
Switched to all snow a little over an hour ago. Could be a big week with the next storm if the gfs and euro verify. 11
Carvers Gap
Really enjoy reading this thread. Great to see so many folks in our middle and western areas getting some winter! Stay warm and stay safe. Keep sharing those pics.
