Elevation made a huge difference here in MoCo. Just 200 feet above my elevation:

You can see how close the heavier snow was to the valley floor.

1/4" now and melting fast, even at 1300' here in Mossy Grove.

This was a strange system. Temps were not that big of an issue once it turned to 100% snow at my house. 4 miles south of me in Ft City got a dusting but they are about 300 to 400 foot lower than me. I’m shocked the valley areas of Morgan just got a heavy dusting.

This is pretty incredible. Look at the difference in snow totals from these 2 locations.

This happens a lot near Crossville. Usually the Western parts of the County where the Plateau starts get double what the town proper gets. It's like the snow just smacks in to the edge of the Plateau and then spreads what's left eastward from there.

Monterey and Cookeville is a great example of this. Monterey has had 4+ inches of snow many times when 10 miles away in Cookeville there is none or a dusting. It's crazy to me that they are in the same school system with how different the weather is.

This little event here melted faster than frosty flippin burgers on the 4th of July! Wow! We had just ever slightly more than an inch, but it literally started melting right when it quit and then the sun came out and it’s nothing but a memory. A good memory of ups and downs of tracking and scoring, even if it wasn’t as much as I was hoping far, it was still nice. Brings my seasonal total here to 10in. Nice to hit double digit snowfall (even if I did have to nickel and dime my way there) again for the first time in several several years!

Typical post around here. This is one thing that happens when you get 6+ inches of heavy wet snow but forecasters down played it in a major way.

"We weren’t prepared either.  We didn’t even know it was supposed to snow.  We have a fireplace for back up but we can’t get it out.  My husband ran to town to get something to when it started just in case the power goes out again.  Luckily I had just gotten groceries.  We will have water since we have city water, but not hot water for a shower."
