Tealsnowball
6 hours ago, Buddy1987 said: Super disappointing up this way. Pretty much all rain. Temp went from 39 to 35 but radar is lightening up and will really need 2nd batch to over perform. Hopefully the frontogenesis that has been talked about will come to fruition. No longer having good feelings about this. Crazy to me because to my south and west it really over achieved. Sat under heavy yellows for easily 30 min plus and couldn’t flip. What causes that do you think? I've been in that situation numerous times. My folks live in Cave Spring (grew up there) and I don't know if it's urban heating or elevation but at times the transition from rain to snow seems to take a bit longer around Roanoke. gritsnc
Just woke up to a heavy dusting. It's still snowing but looks like it will be ending soon per radar.

magpiemaniac
I went from a 33 degree cold rain all night long up until an hour ago to a decent 32 degree snow. Everything is white. This is the forth small snow event of the season. I haven’t measured yet, but it should put me over 3” for this winter. We all still need one big snow before planning our gardens.
buckeyefan1
Congrats to my fellow upstate peeps and everyone who got in on the flakes flying!! I love all the pictures everyone MBY didn’t see any snow, only a rain/sleet/tiny flake slop. From the look of it, the snow line set up 1.5 miles from me. Next time I do a spell for snow, I’ll be facing east instead of west
Tullioz
Ended up with just 1/2" at my location on the west side of Eden just outside the city limits which all fell within the past 90 minutes. Almost not post worthy. Lowest temperature during the event was 32.5. Current temperature 32.7.
NorthHillsWx
Congrats to all the upstate folks who got snow, y’all were due. Sounds like some decent snows up from there, certainly closer to mountains

KChuck
32.8/32.0 w light snow. Had .25" of rain that fell between 6 and 6:30 that dropped temp a degree to 32.7. Overall more snow than last weekend.
kc4wsd
Temp and dew point both holding steady at 32.8 for about thirty minutes now.Beautiful snow changed to a cold rain around the top of the hour. Currently a little snow mixed with the rain.@Tullioz is only about two miles away, and had at least 0.25" more snow than here.
calculus1
I'm calling it 2.5 inches for MBY.Beautiful snowfall from about 9:30 until...I went to bed around 1:00 and it was still snowing nicely.Such a pleasant surprise from what usually happens: We busted high!Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk

Honestly I have no idea. It’s super odd. I live more or less out in the country compared to downtown Roanoke or anything like that. I’m in between exit 137 and 132 if you are familiar with the area up this way. Only thing that would make sense is rates and the simple fact that you most likely had some good bands come through and we did not.
franklin NCwx
Probably ended with 5 total but it's so wet and heavy and compacted quickly!

wncsnow
Little over an inch here. Another fail. One of the lowest totals in WNC. 3 winter storm warning and all produced less than 3 inches.
landof2rivers
I’m on the south side of town near the river. Roads aren’t covered in my neighborhood and ground is barely white, not enough to try and measure.
mstr4j
Drought is over! Maybe trace to 1/2 inch here outside of cowpens in Spartanburg, SC and thankful for every flake that flew! Drove up to a friends house in Landrum/Campobello areas and they had a solid 2.5 inches on the ground by 10:30. Wouldn’t surprise me if they cashed out over 3. To those that didn’t get squat, trust me I feel your pain - Hoping for a big one later on this month!
Jessy89
4-4.5 in Maggie valley this will melt fast even in the mountains. I believe I got a inch or so more here then in MBY lol. .

BooneWX
I don’t think I’ve ever been happier for a group to get snow than our upstate folks. I’ve lived in Wnc my whole life and I know very well how hard it is to get good snow south of 85, even into the foothills of SC. Congrats!
