wolfie09
The one thing hurting is guidance is trying to retract the band close to the lake shore but by the time it heads north the entire band is over the lake lol That's according to the HRRR, the rgem keeps it on land but barely.. wolfie09
I'm thinking Dave was right on the money.. This CF is acting as a "kicker" so more separation the farther North and west it came..At least that's what it looks like to me lol

TugHillMatt
I wish we could get some storms where it runs NNW from that spot on Hatteras...Whatever happened to those? I will hope that the WNW lake band the Nam 3k is showing works out. Looks like the Hrrr is "trying"...
wolfie09
We are due for a hybrid event lol It's been a few years, I think I have seen 2 in the 6 years up here.. Back in the day we actually had systems run inland and cause westerly enhancement instead of the typical NE/NW lol But as Matt said nothing ever goes North/NNW anymore..

wolfie09
The stuff over northern Oswego is from todays event, LES to the south is from Sunday night event.. SR models can have a southern bias at times..
wolfie09
Not sure why but at this juncture the NWS and WPC have this as a westerly event.. I'm sure it will change as SR guidance gets more into range.

Perhaps you'll get a few inches from the Lake Erie band. About 10" snowpack as of yesterday, just getting a bit crusty on top with melting and re-freezing. Another dusting this morning. Nah, this is a Mexico on North special. We won't see much action at all especially considering we're in a pretty stable pattern right now with hot many SW's in the flow so what you see is pretty much what we'll get the next few days or so. Tomorrows is pretty much toast but we might see some postcard light snow tomorrow just enough to whiten everything back up.

CNY-LES FREAK
We need another train of Clippers like we saw last week or the week before. Thats when we get most of our snows here and in CNY

You're more experienced with the local climo...what pattern is best for us? I seriously sit here and wonder what it takes for Syracuse to reach its average. I thought Lows passing to the SE would still provide us with NW flow and some snows. Just seems like no pattern works out for us...so, what is best? Even the system this week was a mess. This upcoming week had looked like it might produce...but not so sure now? Models have had such rapid changes from run to run.
wolfie09
We'll see how it works out, never know with LES lol Rgem for example starts it west, veers WNW and then backs up west/WSW..I think we all probably see some snow..You have one system going north with it's associated CF and another LP off the east coast.. Maybe some sort of convergence band..Winds area all over the place at the surface..
