Can’t make this up It seems like the wall of snow is starting to slowly make a little headway through the dry air on the East end of Lake Ontario finally. We shall see. I think being directly downwind of the tug in terms of wind trajectory hurt us today. Just a lot of down-sloping.

wolfie09
From west to east here at expected *additional* snow accumulations late this afternoon through Wednesday morning: western NY less than 2 inches, Genesee Valley including Rochester Metro 4-6 inches, northern Finger Lakes into Oswego county 4-6 inches (most over Wayne/Ontario counties) and east of Lake Ontario another 4 to 6 inches. TugHillMatt
Was looking forward to being under this band for a tiny bit, but all I'm seeing are teeny tiny flakes blowing in the wind. So, now it doesn't snow in dry slots AND under bands on radar. Got it.

So odd.

Revracer800
Been snowing here in Hannibal all day, light snow then moderat, back and forth all day. 3-5" so far with the storm.
TugHillMatt
There must be some sort of extreme dry layer or shear or voodoo monster in the atmosphere above No. Onondaga because all it has done is spit flakes like it is doing now..even under that band. I swear at least for my back yard and this especially pertains to lake effect, if they issue a advisory or warning, I plan for little. If the setup seems possible but no headline just about guaranteed it will over perform. It happened twice just last week, with that shallow lake effect both times they put on a wwa the snow died off. Dropped it picked back up. I didn’t have any expectations for today, I’m sitting here looking at 3/4”-1” hr snow fall.
LakeEffectKing
I've seen it time and again on the back side of coastal low pressure systems... Radar seems to always be off a little bit... Not sure why....

PerintonMan
Radar filling in and snow picking up (finally) in SE Monroe. I knew there was bust potential, but I didn't think it was from precip overshooting us to the west.
TugHillMatt
Watching on radar, I must be on the northwestern flank of that band that is rotating through Onondaga county. Looks like it's pouring snow via webcams over Syracuse and your report, King. Hopefully it rotates in here.

DeltaT13
It really is the tug hill eating up a lot of the snow that was Enroute to us. Seems like we are breaking out of that shadow finally...but there will be a new victim.
TugHillMatt
Using the Tug Radar, I guess you can see better how the N. Syracuse weenie zone has been getting screwed. Apparently training JUST to my south.
