You'all in here talking about crabbing? That's my s*it. I've been running a trotline my whole life. Stay out of my spots lol

Gfs has some chilly temps Sunday morning. At least we get a few deep winter days before the sun angle scorches the earth surface in a week.

Yeah, I remember saying that you were a big crabber.  I don't get out often enough anymore, and I'm limited to sheltered areas because I just have a 16' flat-bottom skiff that I built.  But I love crabbing the shallows so it's perfect.  I'm either at Crab Alley, on the Severn, or south by Shady Side.

Chessy Bay creeks are full of them.

Ok I need to check that out. Older Miss J will be a senior next year and we are going to start looking at colleges. She wants to check out St. Mary's Honors College. We have never been down to that part of MD so looking forward to it.

Right on. That skiff is all you need. I've got a 21' Grady White. It's nice for an all around type boat. Skiffs are great for crabbing. I crab the Severn in June. Usually Eastern Bay/Crab Ally during the dog days and finish on the Wye in October. It's beautiful on the Wye in the fall. Crabs are delicious. Keep in touch. I'll send you some spots.

The next time I brew our Black and Cran Sour, we can meet you at on of those breweries up your way and I'll give you a growler.  We loved it.

Sounds great

You always take it in stride. It's those north Carroll dudes who think they live in Canaan or something.

They don’t?

What is a "weenie"?  And can the word be used as a verb or adjective?   TIA, Amateur Iodine

“A weather weenie is someone who obsesses about some aspect of weather and, at times, that obsession rules their life.”

I think you could use is it as a noun, verb and adjective.

Suggestion- Post in banter. When you have something relevant and interesting that adds to the discussion, post in the main threads.

When we do our big AmWx Mid Atlantic picnic this summer, you bring the dessert and I'll try and get some fish for the fryer.

Mystery IPA! But based on the kind of goods that @Scraff lucks into...and the kind of beers you Baltimore folks typically have access to, I'd definitely take my chances.  :)

They are opening a new taproom in Pasadena. Hysteria Brewing Tap House.

St. Mary's has a beautiful campus. My oldest son had it on his consideration list as a lacrosse school back in the early 2010s, but honestly...I don't think he would've been smart enough to hang there. ;)  Good luck in your continued search, though...this is a really fun time to watch teenagers to spread their wings a bit.

Wow.  That's awesome.  Hysteria is out of Columbia and making really good beers.  I like Black Flag a little better right now, but Hysteria is good stuff.

Is that really a thing? I’d love to hit it up.

Not yet, but we should make it happen.  Heck, I'd even let that out-of-towner @WxWatcher007 come.

Maybe somewhere in Howard or AA County to maximize turnout.

Thank you for the heads-up, and we will definitely check that out! Saw you and @mappy discussing Pasadena area a few minutes ago, and it brought up such great memories that we made with an older couple my wife and I befriended through one of my jobs many years ago. They had a modest house a mile or so off Mountain Road, and probably a mile or two beyond CHS, just a couple minutes' walk from the Magothy River. We always loved taking day trips to visit them, because it was almost like a mini-vacation from our location in the over-packed, close-in NoVA 'burbs. They've both passed on in recent years...but a new brewery is ALWAYS a good reason to take a trip out Route 100.  ;)

My mom is scheduled to get her 2nd jab tomorrow at 11 am in Alexandria.   And they're being total dicks about rescheduling.  I tried to be sympathetic about her plight, but I still want it to snow as much as possible.  Her BF will be taking her in an AWD SUV...I think she'll be ok.

They'll be dicks about rescheduling right up to the time when they close the office without notice tomorrow at 11AM.  Six Flags did that last week.

>When venturing outside, watch your first few steps taken on steps, sidewalks, and driveways, which could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.

This advice is questionable.   I heard of one theory that humans evolved to function best with head upright.  Literally watching one's step causes one's head to look down and thus makes makes balancing that more difficult.  Go running in the woods, looking straight ahead.  Then try running while looking at your feet.  (Ha just kidding, don't try it you'll run into a tree.)   But seriously, is there any science supporting the advice to watch one's step?

This right here is a good suggestion. When in doubt always post in banter. That is what I do.

Used to catch white perch, yellow perch, pike, carp, sunfish, etc. all in around the Magothy. Later, when I lived on Stoney Creek, I would catch rock fish. I could net some grass shrimp and use as bait.
