Well, I WILL say this:  The Storm broke 2 records for me.  And I’ve been driving for 2 hours.

WORST ROAD CONDITIONS I’VE EVER SEEN!!  6” on highways, 10” on on/off ramps!!  Worse than 12/13/2007

Tied for Hardest Falling Snow I’ve ever seen!!  (That yellow band over the Attleboro area an hour ago).

Now I have NO idea what I got, I’ll have to go by the NWS guy that lives in my town that keeps stealing my reports for the NWS, and Fozz.  But to see people get 4 Hours of 3” per hour, which I’ve only seen 4 times in my life, in a storm I got almost NOTHING in??  Hurts real bad.  Real bad.

:cory::angry:

Please don’t tell me Attleboro also got a foot or more.

I think a bit more intensity there and also NE winds are removed from the water down there compared to near downtown. It’s different out your way because NE winds don’t have a direct water component. There was a clear longitudinal component to this. When it is cold just off the deck, it helps to be removed from the warmth of conduction that SSTs have on the air. This allows the air to wet bulb more efficiently. I had this happen back in the November 2018 event. We had light ESE winds that gave Boston no snow. Meanwhile I had 5.5”. ESE winds for me are off the land for awhile.

Great explanation, thank you.

Another way to look at it: the relative humidity of air right off the deck (downstream of whatever the wind direction) is slightly greater than deeper inland, and so more resistant to wet-bulbing.

I happened to have family visiting this week... was so hoping they could experience "what is all the hype about" a classic New England snowstorm :(

Bedford Massachusetts . Top 3-4” are snowball snow . This should be near a jack I would think when real  PNS comes out

I didn’t realize it was that deeeeep

Wut?   Gawd Damn!   Congrats to all in NE MA away from the coast!

What a long ass day. What's the deal with snow tomorrow? Any?

happens. I felt this way in that first March storm of 2018. Granted, I wasn't expecting as much but the changeover seemed inevitable and just never came. Just a tad bitter.

Winter wonderland just a few mikes from you.  I’ve snowblown twice already.   Stayed below freezing-barely and that was the difference.   I’ll measure soon but I’m pretty sure I’ll exceed 8.

Awesome, congrats!

I won't be surprised to see 15-20 pops further out by Framingham...

I wouldn't have been as invested if we weren't so razor close to a huge event, and if I wasn't hoping to impress visiting relatives lol

Heard a really loud thump just now, the house shook, and the lights flickered for about 15-20 sec. Thought at first it was the plow guy dinging my garage, but no, it was the really large 60' pine tree across the street from me coming down across the road and extending into my driveway.

What a mess.

On the plus side, here at 300' elevation in Wayland, we likely have north of 14" and it's still coming down bonkers.

It was still pounding when I was out there

radar says we will be done with this crazy rates at any moment, should score a few more

there will be some surprises with this , been watching radar all day and it looks like Far NW CT prolly has a couple spots with 2’ , S VT will have a couple 20” powder reports .

just want to keep power , snow was getting heavier , 30.8F
