May mix with sleet for a period as the intensity lightens up but heavier snow building back NW again,

I’ve lost a degree in the last hour Temp maxed at 29.4 at 8:30 here and back to 28.9 a half hour later. 6" on the snow stake but that isn't "official" measurement due to the grass. Official could be slightly less.

eduggs
Visibility already down below 1/4 mi in Montville, NJ, although that's partly due to the gusty winds and blowing snow. The temperature has begun to tick down after rising for 12 hours or so.

sussexcountyobs
From this point on, accurate measurements will be hard for most everyone. I will try to measure every hour to be as accurate as I can. Wind has picked up here a bit, but nothing to write home about.

But judging by the radar presentation they probably also indicate a warm layer around 850mb causing a little melting and then clumping of the flakes. Great lift in your area so the snow column should hold or even cool slightly.

Not sure where that is? But anyway, it is snowing so much heavier here than there. You keep saying that but the returns say otherwise. I'm here in queens and it's puking snow. I think the camera can make it look like it's snowing more or less heavily than it actually is depending on a few various factors...
jaysoner
Nice banding setting up in north-central New Jersey. I really hope it makes its way up another 10-20 miles to at least southern Bergen county
