T5403CG
Are temps supposed to drop when coastal kicks in? Not on the most of the Island... according to WeatherBug the SNAIN line is about a mile south of me here in West Islip... Looks like from Islip through Patchogue (on barrier beach and over the bay) they are mixing already... I appear to be next... This was modeled to happen late afternoon... Not sure where this is going Update 7:15am... SNAIN line retreats back over ocean.... This is going to be insane... riding the tiger in SW Suffolk... Oh boy.... 5 OTG, 31f with moderate snow... for now...

jm1220
The places that have sleet or other mixing right now will go back to snow when the rates pick up. In drier patches there isn’t the lift needed to make good snowflakes which means there can be sleet or graupel instead. 2
