Kmlwx
Roads were partially covered here in the 8am hour. Looks like our side roads are now completely covered. Closing in on (or perhaps at) one inch at this point. A poster above has it right - kind of "drizzling" pixie dust right now. Already ran the shovel down the driveway. Very dusty snow - super easy to shovel.

We could be having another winter like last winter - so I try to look at the bright side. It's snowing and it's sticking (for the most part). Agree. Much better than last year. Scarlet Pimpernel
Eyeballing maybe ~1.5" there about where I'm at (Chevy Chase, MD area). Light snow falling, clinging to everything right now with the calm wind. Very pretty! I will be going for a @Jebman Jebwalk soon, and get some photos!! By the way, nobody has mentioned much about the wind potential during this event, but looks like it could become pretty brisk?

SnowDreamer
1.75" and lovely outside. Took the typical loop for this morning's jebwalk, but doggo decided it was too cold half way through and we had to return to shelter - Was unable to convince him that continuing would be just as fast.

In fairness, this winter has been barely better than last winter so far. I know we've probably gotten about 4 inches of snow this year compared to whatever last year was, but both winters have been awful. The good news is this winter is only half over and the last couple of weeks of February might hold promise.
jayyy
And just like that, NWS upped the totals for my folks in NY to 14-18+ - I just told them I hate them so much in the most loving way possible. I KNEW this had New York and New England special written all over it. Been saying it all week long. I should have trusted my gut and I got bit for it. WxUSAF
Big needle conglomerates falling now. Those accumulate pretty nicely. When the rates slack off, the conglomerates go away and it doesn’t accumulate well at all.

Pretty nice pressure gradient setting up so even though the storm isn’t that deep it’s going to be near blizzard for them. Wouldn’t be surprised to see blizzard warnings hoisted for NYC and LI. Oh well though, that’s for them, getting some bigger flakes here in Takoma Park again and rates improving a bit.

Kmlwx
If anyone else is using GR2Analyst - I had the program crashing on me a ton this morning when start polling - I'm terrible at keeping the software up to date. Head over to the owners forum and download the latest update. That solved the crashing for me.
psuhoffman
28/20 no wind at all. It’s too cloudy to see but the real problem is there must be one of those little prop planes they send up from Westminster circling around over head and whoever is flying that thing has the worst case of dandruff I’ve ever seen. It’s disgusting. Getting all over everything. 3
