Solo2
Pretty underwhelming so far (though snowtv and light accum better than no snow, of course)...flake size getting bigger, but rates still lacking a bit...
SomeguyfromTakomaPark
Went out with kids already had a blast. Oh well if the NAMs say this is it, at least it’s pretty outside and it’s cold!

I’m not concerned about mixing before any lull - which maybe when things shut off anyway - but I want to capitalize as much as possible right the F now!

You've been pretty down on this event the entire time it seems...not just today. 4 hours of snow in subfreezing temps in January with a pre dawn start with side roads barey covered and about an inch to show for it overall. paxpatriot
The difference between the globals and mesos for us M/D folks seems almost laughable. It seems I can expect anywhere between 3 and 16 inches of snow. Not sure I can recall such a disparity this close to an event between those camps.

Maybe my expectations are simply too high. This is how it is around here for the most part. I grew up in upstate NY and it took me a while to get used to the fact that even some of our “cold powder” events aren’t really that cold and there’s still slush on my driveway lol. It’s no big deal, we live in a marginal snow region on a rapidly warming planet. Just enjoy whatever we get!!! That’s what I’m doing and not sweating the details. nw baltimore wx
We had a little burst when the snow started, but just light pixie dust now. I got up early to go to Giant but did some last minute grading first and by the time that I got there, it was pretty busy. Why in the heck is it so hard for people to follow the dang arrows?!? 25 minutes ago, MN Transplant said: Neighborhood fox out for a stroll in the snow I had to chase a fox out of the yard around 6:30AM this morning because he was too interested in the pile of kittens snuggled on our back porch.

Maybe my expectations are simply too high. I hear you - we all are chasing HECS storms. But of course not every storm is going to be a HECS or MECS. For me it's all about the scenery - get the grass blades covered up completely and I'll Jebwalk and enjoy the snow. Unfortunately, the advent of the internet and widespread distribution of snow maps and weather models has really hurt the enjoyment of snow for weather weenies everywhere. We could be having another winter like last winter - so I try to look at the bright side. It's snowing and it's sticking (for the most part). notvirga!
It’ll be nice having snow falling all day with temps below freezing. Planning to take a walk in the snow this afternoon. Not much accumulation here but a heavy coating—maybe 3/10 of an inch. Hoping the NAMs are wrong and the globals are right for this area.

Yea, that's pretty idiotic with a side order of dum. 1
