Kmlwx
Here's the LWX Winter Storm Warning criteria - A Winter Storm Warning is issued when a significant combination of hazardous winter weather is occurring or imminent. Significant and hazardous winter weather is defined as a combination of: 1) 5 inches or more of snow/sleet within a 12-hour period or 7 inches or more of snow/sleet within a 24-hour period AND/OR 2) Enough ice accumulation to cause damage to trees or powerlines. AND/OR 3) a life threatening or damaging combination of snow and/or ice accumulation with wind. The snow/sleet criteria for a Winter Storm Warning for the five westernmost counties (Allegany, Mineral, Grant, Pendleton, and Highland) is higher (6 inches or more within a 12-hour period; 8 inches or more within a 24-hour period). aldie 22
This has been going on for so long I'm going to be sad to see it end. I suspect I will still see it snowing even when it isn't...you know like if I lost my legs in an accident but it still feels like they are there....different but the same...you get the point. Kmlwx
Guys - let's not cycle into another round of making this thread unreadable. If you're going to continue this can we please do it over in banter? Bottom line, we now all know the proper measurement procedures - his amounts shouldn't be included in an official map or mappy's map at the end of season. The Winter Storm Warning criteria is not simply 5 inches. Okay? 1
ErinInTheSky
The really nice thing about this is that lot of us are going to have a nice layer of snow, then a layer of ice, then another pretty great layer of snow. This stuff should stick around for a while I hope!

mattie g
Snow plow dropped its blade really hard at about 5:15 am. Woke up my 3-year-old, so now I have yet another reason to hate snow plows.
NorthArlington101
Family says new snow of 1.25” overnight. Puts the overall total in Arlington close to 5”.
CAPE
Not much happening here on the west side of Easton. Some very light snow. Radar has looked pretty good over my yard since I left. Might head home early and go for a hike.
SnowDreamer
Erm... I seem to have gotten at least another inch overnight. The snow gods are trolling me. Slight bust WAA, very little CCB, but I still make my 4-8? I’m both irritated and ecstatic.
H2O
Fat flakes here at work. Daughter said closing in on 3" since last night. 5" for the storm would be fantastic.
ErinInTheSky
This snow is really solid and I don't want this band to end. I'm actually getting accumulations off of it.
mbusada
I’m at 2.5” storm total in Lothian, about 10 miles east of DC. Flurries right now and I wish that band over DC would move east. Glad they’re getting in on the action but I’m a little jealous right now!

Scuddz
bracketed by bands but nothing here but flurries all morning. Definitely going to be in a local minimum once this is all mapped out.
