The current persistent band will put Clarksburg well within 8" - 10" should it continue today. this is truly incredible. I do not fully understand the physics behind it but seems like the upper layers over 850 has cooled off significantly.

09-10 analogy
Just measured about 2.5" on the deck before I hit ice. I measured a bit over 2.5" late Sunday, so I'm at least 5" for the whole event and maybe more depending on the great Compaction spirit. Side roads around here are mostly snow covered. SnowenOutThere
Radar looks like it might try to pivot some of the band towards me. This band will probably last for a while maybe even 3+ hours of it.

WxUSAF
DC bullseye today. I’m in a bit of a lull and can see a brighter part of the sky in the east. Waiting for the stuff over Baltimore county to rotate through. Winter wonderland outside!

SomeguyfromTakomaPark
Just had a nice gust blow through! Probably 20-30 mph for a solid 15 seconds, actually had some blowing snow. Really wasn't expecting this today, what a pleasant surprise.

nw baltimore wx
Today reminds me of the Wednesday (I think) after the '96 Blizzard that just parked a snow band over the metros all day and gave us all another 4" to freshen up the snow piles.
