They are worried about a sharp NW cutoff I think. That, or timing and it’ll be issued with the evening package

TL97
ICON is like 5" of snow, then 2" of sleet (it says rain on the model but the temp is 32 and below always, maybe a little freezing rain too) then another 4" of snow on the backend. Pretty good outcome overall.
WinterWxLuvr
The RGEM looked like a step back to me. What am I missing. I did like the location of the low transfer. We simply need that thing to tuck and slow. Seems the potential for a much bigger storm is there.

stormtracker
Hasn't been talked about, but the RGEM deform is pretty good even down into DC at around 75 hr

MillvilleWx
As a meteorologist, one of the best things I do with the ICON is I don't look at it and wait for the GFS...... Seriously, it is never used in a NWS setting from anyone I know. Aesthetics only, but it's not a great model and it has been all over the place. 7
WinterWxLuvr
ICON does a good job of stopping the low in its tracks but the temps are roasting.

MillvilleWx
I'll tell you what, the RGEM has been eerily consistent on the evolution so far and placement of the deformation axis. I'm intrigued
