Looks like the lakes will finally produce snow in many of the normal LES regions. Oh, I mean in the Chicago metro area only.
Pascy619
Its been years since I've seen a foot of snow out of one storm. Looks too good to be true. 3
CheeselandSkies
Wow, this is starting to look big time (although unfortunately, not for SE MI...again). I doubt it can actually produce >6" of snow over the vast majority of WI, but just seeing it on a map is impressive. Little different than a rainy cutter, eh?

tuanis
If this one pans out and another .75”-1” of mostly frozen falls on top of whatever we’ve already got, I pray for a slow and steady thaw at some point. The active pattern and eventual potential for a warm, heavy rainstorm spells trouble. 1

Hoosier
I'm having trouble buying that this would be a several inch snow here, like what the Canadian models are suggesting. It's not a bitterly cold antecedent airmass and that surface low is deepening pretty quickly and tracking overhead in a best case scenario or more likely northwest. Given the above, I don't know how we're going to escape boundary layer temp issues around here during the day on Thursday. The back side does look decent though for a burst of fairly intense conditions with the winds and snow.

McHenrySnow
Hate to say it, but I do think the Ukie makes more sense right now. I have all of the same concerns Hoosier pointed out.

ILSNOW
GFS,RGEM,GEM and Euro vs. NAM and Ukie and you can get 4-8 inches of snow and Hoosier can get 1-2 from this setup. We shall see!!!!!!

WAA doesn’t take off until east as well, and 850’s are actually out of the west of a period of time.On the flip side, the GFS has good snows further south for a different reason. It has the SLP strengthening sooner, with more WAA sooner and further west. However, the further south track helps bring the good snows further south.. MSF's (michsnowfreak) south east trend to storms has been money the last 3 winters. Ride it.
