Chicago Storm
The good news is that the ARW/NMM/NSSL WRF all are much wetter and snowier than the NAM/3KM NAM. Usually wouldn't mention them much in the winter, but might be of some use this go around.

Edit: The NAM isn't better than 12z necessarily, but it isn't worse. I'm talking NE Illinois only.

I talk with a lot of Chicago, DC, and Northeast folks on Twitter and this has to be the first time I recall all of us having chance at significant snow from the same storm.
RCNYILWX
We all look at the RGEM/RDPS on here but I don't think I've ever seen it referenced in a WPC model preference discussion. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

That one is stuck in my head... I took it personally It is interesting how it wants to paint that heavy band through IND. Anything is possible but it's pretty hard to take it seriously since other models really aren't even close to showing so much snow at IND.

Gino27
Since it seems like ohio folks around I-70 will switch over to rain for a few hours after getting 3-5 inches of snow, I wonder if a decent about of that will melt before going back to snow. Sciascia
GFS-Elect seems to also have the earlier precip onset that the HRRR had for N IL.
