Typhoon Tip
Looking at the Nam it’s either grains or light snow or freezing drizzle or all three mixed or whatever going on from starting tomorrow 00 thru 60 hours .02-.05 melted every 6 hrs. It’s that pesky time duration requirement. 5” in 60 hrs won’t trip the motion detectors heh it’s nasty for people who don’t like gray blue air tho And I’m also not sure there won’t be OES underneath ...some enhancement to eastern zones and wondering if people are actually considering that awful long saturable fetch in cloud levels with shallow latent heat WB lift and the GFS actually shows a QPF rebundling going on out there after tomorrow night which might be a pile up of that saturated cold air into a snow in column. Not major but appeals better than radar if that happens like that.

TheSnowman
So this Nurlon event is Not looking like the 2013 Fujiwawa? Which I'll Never stop having PTSD from?

78Blizzard
Every model run thus far at 0z has been less robust than 18z.

Damage In Tolland
Great agreement on widespread 3-6” event . Wherever norlun sets up does better than that
UnitedWx
Yeah... but isn't the red flag precip forming below the DGZ after its been going a while? I would say that's what keeps us from the six inch type totals

CoastalWx
I think 3-6 is pushing it. 6z euro backed off a bit too. 2-4" with some areas getting more.
CoastalWx
This seems reasonable for SNE. Still not sure if that area of 4-6 is that widespread 72 hrs from now, but certainly ORH hills could see this. It just depends on how some of these trough features work out and also how much of a push is the WAA burst tonight.
CoastalWx
Euro has temps near 40 in SNH tomorrow. Maybe it's trying to show some brightening in the overcast there? It could be one of those things where when the precip stops, temp warm up a tad across the area. Not sure it will be that warm, but something to note.

I think it stays just offshore, but you could get clipped. There is something late tomorrow night into Thursday morning across ern areas, but you are on the ptype line.
Damage In Tolland
There’s a nice band of snow that redevelops pike region and slowly oozes south overnight into Thursday morning over CT/ RI and SE Mass. .That may drop another 1-2” spot 3”

dendrite
I’ll still intrigued about the norlun potential as we get closer. Ginxy’s H5 temps really drop off like a rock as that ULL moves in.
