The dry layer on the DVN 12z sounding was really quite modest so it is reasonable to assume this should continue to be the case further east. Don't tell Natester. His 2" call may be in jeopardy.

I didn't call that low, I called for max of 5 inches here although it's looking like the snow will start a bit ahead of schedule.

Yea I'm gonna stick to my 6" call just for the sake of consistency, though the earlier start and decent banding with solid dendrites per webcams evident in central Iowa may provide a pathway to 8 or 9". Not especially confident in that occurring however, and 6" is probably a decent floor.

Natester
18z NAM 3k is wetter for east central Iowa while drier for southeast Iowa. Gives us nearly 7 inches based on the 10:1 ratio.
CheeselandSkies
Rather surprisingly, MKX went with a warning for their far SE or "KRM" counties (Kenosha, Racine, Milwaukee) for potential lake enhancement plus onshore winds (per the AFD). tuanis
Per 3k NAM best fgen banding lifts well into WI on a roughly Platteville - Madison - Port Washington line with some showery garbage to the south. Wouldn't be surprised, although lake should help within 10-15 miles of the lakefront between Chicago and Milwaukee. I'm 5 miles due west of the bluff in Lake Bluff and am counting on the lake contribution

Models have been increasing totals there for sure. Looks like widespread 6" in those counties possible.
