Chicago Storm

Calling it, CR only gets 3-4 inches of snow from this while IC gets 5-6 inches.  Chicago doesn't get much either due to the drying.  At least we had the December 29, 2020 dumping of 8 inches here.

Pulling the magic 8 ball back off the shelf to polish it.

Panic in Iowa. And they’ll all still pull 6”+ easily.

LOT has 1-2” total here. Thought that might have been a bit of a lowball, but I can see it. Shouldn’t have to go much farther north to see a good increase though. At least the ground will be white again for a couple of days. That’s a win this winter.

Somebody reach out to Ricky and tell him the American Weather board thinks that he should cxl the WSW.  The KLOT area will prolly get 4-8 inches which we havent had in a long time and some are ready to cxl the storm. Folks we all want the snow and no its not going to be the big one advertised a few days ago, but maybe the drying on the models stops , maybe they get wetter again who knows lets see how it plays out.

Just now, Chicago Storm said:

The block/confluence hasn’t really changed in a negative way. The wave ending up further northwest in the Plains and peaking out that way is the bigger issue now.

.

eh. he's just weak trolling. Do agree when you see uniform trends like today 24 hours before event we're probably on the correct track.

Based on the posts on this page, I dont think I want to read the last several pages of this thread lol. Models up to their usual shenanigans. Todays burst of snow overperformed for some in the Detroit area (0.6" here but 2-3" in a very narrow band) and I think the main storm will also have some bands in it, but where they end up, who knows. Ill say 2-4" for SE MI with locally higher amts possible. As for Chicago, you wont be seeing 10-20" but try and enjoy the snowstorm. Just a month ago you guys would have killed for a snow shower.

I will damn well enjoy it. Bit sad that it didn't end up being the 20" we all wanted but it'll be a nice snow regardless

LOL...might snow in Wisconsin!

//...Potential for Accumulating Snow Monday Evening ThroughTuesday... There is a potential for light to moderate accumulating snow starting Monday evening through Tuesday, mainly across southern Wisconsin. East to northeast winds will be gusty during this time as well, which could cause concerns for blowing and drifting snow. Lake enhanced snowfall is also possible for Racine and Kenosha counties during this time period. There is still a fair amount of uncertainty with snow totals for this system, so make sure to stay up to date with the latest forecast.//
