TugHillMatt
Seems like things are really moistening up across Western NY and now into the Finger Lakes. Hopefully this is one of those time where the models are underdoing amounts. They really don't look impressive at all.

Thinksnow18
I believe there will be some overall enhancement with the moisture shield moving in from the west.

lakeeffectkid383
It’s awesome they just added a new camera on the 219 at Rice Rd (one of the best spots for snow). Right now there’s so much snow it looks like a snowmobile trail lmao. https://www.511ny.org/#:Alerts

I imagine if Lake Erie didn't freeze (maybe it won't anymore?) and we can get cold air, your average could definitely increase.
BuffaloWeather
8" snow depth, a little over 10" the last 2 days.

If Erie didn't freeze you could bump everyone in Western New Yorks yearly totals up another 20-30".

I use wunderground since the NWS radar is now unusable.. https://www.wunderground.com/radar/us/ny/pulaski/tyx Don't try Channel 9 Syracuse radar either. They destroyed their website and radar long ago with pop ups and junk ads etc. Used to be one of the best...now its a clown show of a site, like most local broadcast news websites in most places. 1

I’m on the southern fringe right now. Light snow with small flakes right now. TugHillMatt
Snowing heavily under that band moving through Onondaga county. Probably 1 to 2 inch per hour rates. I just laid here for about 20 minutes looking out the window watching the big, beautiful fluffers.
TugHillMatt
Is this band that's over the Syracuse area actually an extension/enhancement off of the Erie band? It's so hard to tell. Maybe from both lakes?

Tonight same deal. Looks to continue like this for 10-12 days (basically till Feb), until the GFS rams it home with a cutter deluge to kick off Feb in style. Days are getting longer at least. Hopefully an early Spring.
