wawarriors4
Sleet making it into EZF is no big thing, that usually happens when we have a big one and is the cost of doing business around here. EURO looks good!

osfan24
Eh, 126-132 isn't so great. Looks like storm almost rides due north and stalls at mouth of bay. Looks a lot like some of those NW ensemble outliers from 6z. Sleet right over 95 and maybe slightly west of it.
stormtracker
I think that most of my fellow DC'ers would take the gamble on sleet to get something like this?

Absolutely. Cant speak for others, but I’d risk sleet for 12-18 then an easy 4-8.
osfan24
Awesome run for, say 270 and west folks. East of there, not as good. 95 and east, definitely worrisome. 2 1

No doubt, even down here in EZF. Sleet is part of the game to get big snow
stormtracker
So basically it's the big solution we saw, but with a normal profile of mix/change to sleet then back to snow. Ok. Sold. 9 1
psuhoffman
@stormtracker remember when I said I didn't buy the thermals on the GGEM and ICON. The euro has a track INSIDE both of those runs yet stays all snow in DC. It's close of course...but I trust the euro thermal representation MUCH more then the GGEM and ICON at that range. That was why I was saying those runs were pretty good.

H2O
Just now, stormtracker said: I think that most of my fellow DC'ers would take the gamble on sleet to get something like this? not really. Yeaterday's track was ideal. Not even saying those snow maps were legit. It was powder for all(well most). Now we get that tucked in too close look and warm layer. So in other words: more suppression is better

I would definitely gamble on this, but don't look at the 2m temps and just pretend it happens colder than modeled. 35 in DC for most of the storm.
