John1122
I hate that this is the one system that ends up further east than modeled this year. I was hoping AMZ and our other posters out that way scored. Maybe some N.Ala or Southern Middle folks can get something going. Probably the NAM being the NAM but the 3k drops 3-4 inches above Holston in Frozenhead and over Cross Mtn.
John1122
GFS FV16 also drops 1-2+ from the southern Plateau to SEKY. The regular GFS is close to it as well.
TellicoWx
0z HRRR (vs current reports/radar)....NWS Jackson, Ms had to expand their WSW..WWA expanded across N. MS as well..said speed of system was quicker than anticipated. Alot of sleet reports across N. Al
Jed33
Yeah this system is way bigger than what most, if not all models had indicated

Hate that we missed this one as well, really my fear was this would go north west of me, never south east of me, it is what it is though.

Wurbus
Ironic I've already got more snow (A dusting on my deck) than I did last Friday under a WWA.
Jed33
There is some pixie dust here so far this AM, but it’s so light it’s just blowing right off. Edit: Flake size is actually a little better now and I can begin to see a very light dusting on cars
BlunderStorm
Flurries up this way this morning interestingly. So far a trace has accumulated on the frozen ground.
Holston_River_Rambler
Light to moderate snow here now. Some banding showing up over Middle TN. Hopefully some of the precip over N. Alabama and the southern plateau can survive:
Stovepipe
The Mississippi Mauler has produced a thicker dusting here than the previous event.
Holston_River_Rambler
While certainly not true fatties, I think @Stovepipe that we can call these, with little doubt, healthy chonkers: 1

Shocker0
Flakes are normal size here in Crossville. Falling straight down with light wind
Holston_River_Rambler
I suspect this may also be one of those rare times where we get help from an SWly upslope flow in the eastern valley, since all this is coming from that direction. Everyone except John... But he might even get some leeside convergence from the lee of the flow on the backside of the Frozen Head mts/ Cross mt. This event reminds me of a clipper from the olden days (not in terms of the set up or synoptics) but just in the "weather on the ground" (i.e. if I didn't know anything about the set up and just looked out the window) 1

Shocker0
Went to the campground by the house to take a couple pics since it was so pretty in the snow the other day. Still a little snow was leftover from that event but it's always a nice scene there with the woods and cabins. 1
