Fairly heavy rain with sleet in between Uptown and South Park. Just realize I’ve lived here since 2010 and I cannot recall a significant all snow event since I’ve been here.

That super cold late January snow in 2014? It wasn’t a ton of snow but it had been so cold that things were a mess

Yep good call. Forgot about that one due to the big dog later in February. By far the best storm of the decade, but still cut down by probably 3+ inches.

Not sure anything frozen left right now falling. Just a hard, cold white rain.

GSP update 10:30

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH FRIDAY/...
As of 1030 pm EST: Greenville, Spartanburg, and Cherokee Counties
have been added to the Winter Weather Advisory for light
accumulating snowfall through Friday evening. Recent RAP model runs
have trended colder quicker across the far northern Upstate and this
should lead to a slightly earlier changeover to primarily snow
across the northern portions of these counties. In addition, the
potential for snow showers as the steeper lapse rates move through
on Friday could bring light accums closer to the I-85 corridor.
Locations southeast of I-85 will still see primarily a cold rain,
but with some sleet or snow showers at times.

Otherwise, the forecast remains on track with the first
precipitation shield moving across the heart of the forecast area
late this evening. Ptypes are almost exclusively snow at this point
across the bulk of the mountains and should remain that way for much
of the duration of the event. No other hazard adjustments will be
made late this evening.

Drove up to Boone with the 2 kids. Will ski tomorrow at Sugar. Flurries and 32 degrees

Bully for you grit!  Playing the percentages.  Boone rarely disappoints in situations like these.  Have fun with the family.

I'm in Stokes County now trying to start my hobby farm. Lived in Kernersville from 1987 until a little over a year ago. We've only had one snow that covered the ground since moving here so I'm hoping for a decent one this year.

Currently 39° and cloudy

I have 18 acres on the eastern side of Stokes between Danbury and Madison.  Eventual going to build out there once we’re done raising the teens.

Currently 38.3/29.7 with high clouds.  I was down to 36.7 at 9:30 PM, but it warmed up.  Pressure has fallen from 1023 mb to 1020 mb in past three hours.

These rate-dependent events scare me.  A lot of dreams have been crushed with these setups.

Finally got down to 37° after being stuck at almost 40° for a couple hours.  Now I feel like we're headed in the right direction.  Precip will move into the Triad by 1am.  Lets go!

You'll be fine.  You are in a good spot
