Juliancolton
Recently passed 3.00" in the tipper here. A little bit of urban and small stream flooding as mentioned, but for the most part just a couple of rainy days in late October. The worst of the event seems to be over unless there's some kind of mesoscale wind instigator tonight.
ForestHillWx
Over 3.5” and counting. Basement took on a decent amount due to the rate. Have a 1” pump hooked up currently.

gravitylover
2.35 and climbing steadily but (apparently) not as quickly as you guys. A bit more wind than earlier.
hudsonvalley21
3.14 in the bucket then the dryslot pushed in. Round 2 is pivoting in soon from the northeast.
Juliancolton
Steady rain here all afternoon under that inverted trough feature. Seems like it may not start to dry up here until after midnight, from a quick look at the mesos.
crossbowftw3
The rain very briefly came to an end here before it quickly picked back up again. Guess I will break 5” in a storm for the second time in seven weeks
Brasiluvsnow
What are we looking at as far as winds here in Rockland County, me thinks it could get gusty even inland / up here--> thoughts ?
gravitylover
All day I forgot to look at yesterday. Duh... 1.2 yesterday and 4.7 today makes for a very soggy way to end the month.
IrishRob17
4.49" total including the .31" from Monday morning in the Stratus, 4.29" in the Davis over the same time period, had a small leaf and a maple seed stuck in there.
hudsonvalley21
4.08 does it here for the latest event. 0.44 from Monday. Total of 4.52. Imagine a 10:1 snow ratio in January
Juliancolton
3.79" here since Sunday night. It sounded rather gusty around 4-5 am, but the fact that my cornstalks are all still in place is a pretty good indication that it never got particularly bad
gravitylover
6.5 total, 6.6 including Sunday morning. It was windy enough this morning to take down my 10' Mexican Sunflowers.
IrishRob17
38 for the low which ties the lowest for the month. Was fun driving in and out of the fog depending on my elevation near home, saw some light frost on house roof tops closer to Goshen, nothing near me.
IrishRob17
The Wallkill River gauge in Middletown peaked just a hair higher than it did with Ida, will be interesting how high the river goes this weekend.
BxEngine
Played golf at Blue Hill today in Rockland. The amount of standing water still around was kinda impressive.

IrishRob17
Its pretty certain now that my low here for the month will be 38, which makes it the first October in my time here going back to 2005 that I did not reach freezing. Here are the other Octobers that I only had a low in the 30s, you'll see just how much this 38 stands out in comparison: 2005: 30 2007: 30 2010: 32 2017: 31 2018: 30 2019: 31

To be honest I'm not even sure if I should tally my first frost. 31.5F was the low (below-freezing being corroborated by other stations in the neighborhood), so unambiguously the first freeze. Even here, though, actual frost was tenuous and confined to well-insulated rooftops. Most crucially, there was no damage to tender vegetation... my petunias and impatiens are no worse for wear. Can you first freeze without first frost? If not, how do you frost without killing the impatiens?

The impatiens are a good telltale.
