40/70 Benchmark
I have nothing resembling hope for anything within the forecast range, and its already been over a month since the only significant event.......past two Januarys, ZERO warning events.

ORH_wxman
There are no past snowstorms being discussed right now...it is pattern talk....the 3 composites I posted are 2000-2001, 2012-2013, and 1986-1987....all blockbuster snow years in SNE. They had some similarities to the Atlantic pattern of 1979-1980 but they produced. The pattern currently being forecasted resembles some similarities too. Greg
Boston: Year/Snowfall 2001/2002 45.9" 2012/2013 63.4" 1986/1987 42.5 I think the word "Blockbuster" seasonal totals is a little strong of a word to use but I guess the 63.4" comes somewhat close depending upon ones point of view. 40/70 Benchmark
Rockies ridge helps, but 1/29 still looks like a non starter for me bc the trough and EPO ridge out west are still aligned SW to NE. That is so obnoxious.....someone else should start the Feb thread, as I am skunked.

The banter forum was talking snow blowers and snow plows last week. Fun times fursure Edit: There were even a few videos of snow plowing and snow blowing in action. 40/70 Benchmark
Unreal...the pattern is a N stream bomb factory.....out in the ocean due to the slanted nature of the entire hemisphere.
