Trust me... it's not that 'piece of shit' - I think it worth it clear up the conceptualizing/ it's a bigger problem with the entire circulation components than that small entity

That system in the TV isn't going to usurp that arm of polar jet that flows from eastern Canada SSE through NE ....   If you remove that little object from the field, you still have that planetary wave/jet structure in the way....

I know exactly what your saying.  I also know what the current NAO state is and upper air floow over the northeast.

I'm not talking about the system coming up the coast slamming New England with a snowstorm.

You remove that shit stain streak and the storm would come "closer"

Anyway... that 00z GEF teleconnector was a complete reversal overnight last night...  Right smack in the face of yesterday's seeming coalesced +PNA and that Euro weird fake SSW bullshit...   No, patience wears thin when it gets harder and harder to ignore the strange repeating tendency to be dealt reverses at all scales...

Glad my job is picking up these days - may not be around much this winter if these modeling performances continue... There's nothing to be learned or inspired by "miss"guidance

Things can be worse....you could be a Cleveland Browns fan......

Haha ...

But how does that really make you feel tho -

lol, just kiddin'

Yeah, guess we agree - that little bug in the flow is just that ..."in the flow" - so yeah it's indicative of a flow that's in the way ...  gagh... who cares... Whole pattern we are in was a faux pos and probably isn't worth our energy -

I mean, that TV thing has a 500 mb closed surface at 552 dm - it's paltry and weak.   Those charts due folks a disservice because they have all these threatening colors but ...that's sort of misleading

There's like 5 shortwaves in the flow....doubtful that gets figured out any time soon.

It also reduces the chance at a significant event. Wave spacing is always an issue when you see that. Northern stream is coming to play ball though shortly after, so no reason to fret even if 1/12-1/13 doesn't deliver.

In the mean time, watch Cohen's youporn channel on twitter starring the polar vortex.

Except the sun angle is rising and soon the juncos will be headed back north. Also getting outside the period for a big icer event.  Oh well.

mid-winter is kaput in a couple weeks and the sun angle really rips after Jan 25th or so. Hopefully like last winter where the locked up "great pattern" never materialized. Great vibes all-around today

I really wonder if the system that misses out to sea this weekend will actually begin to morph into an inverted trough/norlun trough, as upper energy pivots southward around the periphery of the large 50/50 Maritimes low.  Also another shortwave in the pacific jet hits the coast Sunday/Monday.  Any of these phase, and we have a storm pop out of nowhere.
