Looks like another sloppy coating to an inch type deal. Overnight too, with not a lot of upside. And haven’t had anything over 1” since DEC 18 we get a couple good medium range runs and think we’re the Northeast or something lmao Fair enough. Maybe it's because I've only lives in the south a few years (and have lucked out on several quality storms in that time), but I would much rather one cold 2" storm that sticks to everything than five 1" grass toppers. But I digress...

PackGrad05
The only system I'm looking at is this weekend. Anything further out is still fantasy land, especially this year with wild model swings. With that said, I'm not even sure I'd get a dusting out of the system Saturday night/sunday. Looks too warm for my area, but I'll watch trends today.

It’s time for entree and buffet snows.

Yeah me too, looks similar to the para GFS this run with the placement of snow and rain line.
calculus1
Hickory is stuck at 33 for the duration of the event, though. That would limit accumulations here. To the north and west, they would do much better.
BullCityWx
Definitely wasnt expecting an inch of sleet this run. Almost always that is a transitional ptype here in much colder weather.

Maybe we will see the models settle somewhere between the Nam and Euro which is less amped for the moment. It's a delicate balance because I feel like we need the better rates and heavier moisture to get some snow, but that's always going to bring some warmer air in too.

WXNewton
This setup kinda of reminds me of this storm back in 08. https://projects.ncsu.edu/atmos_collaboration/nwsfo/storage/cases/20080117/

WXNewton
RGEM not amped like the NAM, but it's trending NW and stronger each run, maybe we can find a happy medium on the models.

NAM was much closer to reality on the big storm last week, so we have that in our favor. NAM has actually preformed pretty well this winter overall. Was too aggressive on the early January storm but otherwise solid. The gfs also did well in final 72 hours leading into Eastern nc snow event so encouraging seeing that trend better.
