Also, there is no drought here If my mind serves me correctly, last year was a disaster of a winter minus the mountains. I think I had .6" of snow here all winter lol. WOOHOO Not much rain in the next week or so that D0 will be movine westward into more of the triangle. Usually we would be counting on a tropical system but that doesnt look to be happening anytime soon

Daniel Boone
The reality is, if formidable hlb isn't pre$ent this Winter it's basically set in stone Mild. The 1960's featured a similar Pac setup several times that Decade and the Winters were cold/snowy in much of the Nation. The key; High latitude blocking. I know many will argue that was a different climate era as why. I agree the same pattern yielded today would be warmer than then but, still blocking was reason for a cold nation as a whole and not just the West, as a -PDO/La nina Pattern would dictate without it. So, there's still some hope.
CaryWx
Playing the waiting game. Not trusting the longer term looks for another month then we'll have decent idea what winter's really going to be around here...or what potential there is rather. WinstonSalemArlington
Tim Buckley @TimBuckleyWX · 33m Wouldn't shock me a bit if we see some sleet pellets or even a few wet snowflakes in parts of the Piedmont early Thursday morning. We'll be cold and dry, and sometimes that gets some sleet going at the beginning. Seeing it in Alabama and Tennessee today
