18z ICON just laid the smack down for freezing rain on Thursday. Would be a devastating ice storm for many if that model is even remotely close.

Although, it has actually overdone the wedge at times, with this past ice storm. It had us in the mid-20s during the heavy precip, I believe

Ok.. So, can we have some DISCUSSION and not just call outs.  I'm looking at the icon map and just seeing rain.  Can we get some actual discussion so maybe some of us noobs can understand what y'all are seeing?

The ICON doesn't show ICE, it either shows SNOW or RAIN.  Look at the temps along with the moisture... a lot of ice taken verbatim

According to an old neighbor. Via txt messages.

They just had the worse ice storm she can reminder. From some of the pics on FB. Looked pretty bad.

Trees snapped like toothpicks.  No power.

Near Roxboro

Yeah, we’re about 10 miles S of Hurdle Mills and we just barely missed the worst of it. Still got a good quarter inch here though.

Looks like ICON is as bad or worse as the last run.

This is getting to be a very big concern for sure. After last storm where we had at the minimum a good 1/3” of ice this one looks to potentially top it. The high on a lot of the globals is in a pristine position for funneling purposes. Tap of the keg right out of the St Lawrence Valley.

Is it just me or are some of the models trending toward more of a widespread ice storm winter storm for southern va tried  piedmont nc and now extreme upstate sc later next week. Looks like the cad is trending a lot colder with tons of moisture.

They are trending that way, RDPS too
