Yep. A few flakes are possible but that’s about it.

Lost the Christmas magic in your advanced years old man?  I'm a Bengals fan, we just beat the Steelers with Ryan Finley at QB.....it's snowing tonight.  Bank on it!

The HRRR (or the hurr durr) still insists on snow in the Triad between midnight and 1:00.  Temp needs to cooperate pretty quickly.

...RAPID TEMPERATURE DROP AND RAIN CHANGING TO SNOW...

At 851 PM EST, a cold front was located along a line extending from
near Burnsville to near Lone Hickory. Movement was east at 30 mph.

Temperatures will drop 10 to 20 degrees in less than 2 hours and
winds up to 40 mph are possible with this cold front. As the
temperatures drop rain will change to snow. A brief period of sleet
is likely during the transition. Wet roads and sidewalks will become
icy and slick.

Locations impacted include...
Roanoke...
Lynchburg...
Danville...
Salem...
Christiansburg...
Eden...
and Reidsville.

Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be
prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra
time when traveling.

A rapid drop in temperatures will lead to the rapid formation of
black ice on area roadways. Black ice is nearly impossible to see
and will be covered by snow in some locations. Please use extreme
caution, especially on bridges, overpasses and around curves. Allow
plenty of stopping distance and avoid braking suddenly.

That wasn’t even the biggest upset of the week.  The Jets beat the Rams.  The Jets.  That probably used up most of the Christmas magic all by itself. I knew one of the Bengal players when he was just a wee lad. His father was on the staff of my Middle School. His dad is a great guy, college coach now, and so is his son. Good addition for the Bengals this year.  Linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither.
