Got about 5.5” new on the day here but ripping once again. Just a few miles to our South has double. Close to Amherst Middle, but on the north side of Main (next to Smallwood Elementary). Having experienced a few events where 1 mile south got 12”+ and I got zilch, I’ll take our 8”+ today and run. Heavy snow here now again. Flake size increased too. I’m down by the peace bridge. Very wild conditions with really strong winds. A lot of graupel in the band the closer you get to the lake.
Thinksnow18
Band not moving snowing all the way to NT right now drive through 3” hour rates and it’s picking up here...I’m confident we hit 15” or so in Williamsville
LakeEffectKing
Congrats WNY'ers... Band is definitely on the increase Ahead of the short wave.... Thinking the heaviest of snow for this event will occur over the next 3 hours as the convergence will really tighten up.
Buffalo Bumble
Heaviest snow of the day ongoing here right now. 2-3”/hour a safe bet. Closing in on 12” in a hurry.

SouthBuffaloSteve
Only picked up another 5.4” from 8am-2pm. Snow was a lot fluffier and probably compacted quite a bit when we had that lull for a few hours. 11.2” 9pm-8am 5.4” 8am-2pm 16.6” Lake Effect Total Add in the synoptic and have a storm total of 21.6” in last 48 hours that ain’t bad!

DeltaT13
Snowfall rates have to be up in the 3-5”/hr range. Cars are getting stuck in the middle of the road at stop lights. Feels like I’m being buried alive. It’s glorious!

BuffaloWeather
...A BAND OF LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL AFFECT NORTHWESTERN WYOMING... NORTHERN ERIE...SOUTHEASTERN NIAGARA...SOUTHERN ORLEANS AND GENESEE COUNTIES... At 212 PM EST, A narrow band of lake effect snow producing snow fall rates of 2 to 3 inches per hour was located across the southern portions of the Buffalo northtowns, from Kenmore and Amherst to Clarence, and as far east as Pembroke and Oakfield in Genesee county. Expect the snowband to begin to settle southward across the Buffalo Metro toward the southtowns through 4 PM. Winds in excess of 30 mph are possible with this band of lake effect snow which will create blowing and drifting to the snow. A rumble of thunder is possible with the most intense portion of the snowband.

As you make your way back to your place you should go down route 5 (Main St) out through Clarence into Akron and then can get back on the Thruway in Pembroke. Clarence has been getting slammed all day long with the best returns as they’re getting the convergence from the band.
